Sex, drinking detailed in report on Boston University hockey

News to me: Vladimir Putin pocketed Bob Kraft's Super Bowl ring in 2005.

I'd be cautious asking for it back from this guy.

Sex, drinking detailed in report on Boston University hockey

For any number of reasons, best left unstated, this has my hackles in the full erect position. (For the dirty-minded among us, hackles are the neck feathers of birds.) If Jack Parker is not asked to leave the university, it completely exposes a lack of institutional oversight. Parker initially denied any knowledge of problems, then admitted he had heard of "a couple of guys drinking in the locker room". The program is under his control. He and his assistants were given complete charge over the conduct of his players on and off the ice. If he is not aware of allegations of misconduct, then higher-ups in the school administration are guilty of a cover-up. I will note that BU did indeed make an investigation and released the report, which at least is something in mitigation of the university. Parker has been stripped of his title as Executive Athletic Director (whatever that means), but only a full overhaul of the BU hockey program and the termination of Coach Parker's services will begin to set things right. One might also ask, "Where is the NCAA in all of this?". Allegations of sexual misconduct began to come to light nearly a year ago, but until BU's own report, little notice other than local news items had been paid to the situation. Is it not time for some sanctioning?

I say strip them of the 2009 title and give it to the runner up!

Whoa: appeals panel overturns Saints' player suspensions.

Whoa indeed. More details. It applies only to the players, so Payton et al are still out.

Chris Kluwe on lustful cockmonsters

I don't think Kluwe is going to change that particular congresscritter's mind, but I do think its a positive thing when NFL players come out in support of civil rights.

There's always the chance that Kluwe might change other people's minds about that particular congresscritter.

He's definitely changed my mind about Chris Kluwe.
That's an awesome letter.

Also, I've just changed my team name in the SpoFi NFL Picks league.
(But I don't want to get booted from Yahoo! for an inappropriate name...)

Kluwe's an amusing guy who drops obscure League of Legends references into interviews.

He's been answering some questions about his letter on Reddit - when asked if he thought he'd be hearing from the league about his letter he answered:

"I suspect that if they were to come after me on this the backlash would be quite intense. Don't let the naughty language fool you, I always make sure when I write something like this there's logic and ethics behind it"

Meanwhile, BeIn Sports just showed me the USA lose to Jamaica in World Cup Qualifying. Wasn't expecting that.

Annnnnnd, to complete the Hattrick of consecutive posts, Grantland has alternative logos for all teams.

Oh, man. The whole alternative logos article is gold.

The Rams and the Washington one are my favourites.
