Brian Wilson May Need Tommy John Surgery: San Francisco Giants closer and beard laureate Brian Wilson has "structural issues" in his right elbow and will likely need surgery, manager Bruce Bochy said. Wilson had Tommy John surgery in 2003 as a college pitcher at LSU.
Too bad. He'll probably wind up taking his crazy act to ESPN. He'd fit in well there.

I'm not sure, but I might have umpired him when he was pitching for Londonderry, NH, High. (No, he wasn't high, I'm talking about the school.) Anyway, it's a tough break for him.

the outcome is much less successful the second time around.
I hope it's not a career-ender for him. He adds a spark to the entire team with his presence as well as his skills, and the Giants will be hard pressed to fill his shoes.

The linked article recently posted here on the elbow procedure said that the outcome is much less successful the second time around.
