MLB prediction thread!:
Everybody embarrass themselves and make some wild guesses!
The St. Louis Browns will defeat the Washington Senators in 9 games to be this year's World Series champions.

I'll not try to predict order of finish in all of the divisions, nor will I predict playoff winners, but I will predict that Boston does a lot better than most seem to think, if only to cause the local pundits and talking heads much consternation. The noise level here in the so-called nation has grown to an alarming volume, and many of these "experts" sound like they'll be surprised if the Red Sox win 60 games. Here's hoping they enjoy a generous helping of Corvus Brachyrhynchos.

I predict that Mike Illitch will deliver an ultimatum to Jim Leyland...either Brandon Inge goes, or Leyland goes. Dave Dombrowski will immediately scramble to find a replacement manager...

I predict the Cincinnati Reds will sign a player to the 4th richest contract in major league history, keeping the Canadian Crusher in red stockings until 2023.
Excuse me. I have to chase down all the monkeys that just flew out of my ass.

If Toronto were to beat Philly in the WS again, some Brotherly Lover would go out and duct tape Mitch Williams to the Walt Whitman bridge, just because.

My predictions:
AL East -- Yankees (96 wins)
AL Central -- Tigers (91 wins)
AL West -- Halos (92 wins)
AL WC 1 -- Rangers (90 wins)
AL WC 2 -- Rays (89 wins)
NL East -- Phillies (92 wins)
NL Central -- Cardinals (91 wins)
NL West -- Giants (88 wins)
NL WC 1 -- Braves (90 wins)
NL WC 2 -- Brewers (89 wins)
AL Pennant -- Angels
NL Pennant -- Cardinals*
World Series -- Cardinals* (Pujols gets a warm welcome from some of the most polite fans in baseball, but becomes visibly shaken and unable to proceed when Stan Musial shakes his cane at Pujols during his first at bat and says "Get Off My Lawn!")
*Rampant homerism at work on the NL Central, NL Pennant and World Series picks. I actually do pick the Cards to win the NL Central, but everything else is a crap shoot.
AL MVP: Albert Pujols
AL Cy Young: Felix Hernandez
AL Rookie: Matt Moore
NL MVP: Troy Tulowitski (in a photo finish over Ryan Braun's urine collector)
NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum
NL Rookie: Yonder Alonso

My only prediction (hope?) is that we get to see a recreation of the Nolan Ryan/Robin Ventura uh, incident, on opening day Friday when the White Sox go to Arlington.

I think that the Cardinals will defend their World Series title*.
*: rampant homerism possible, but game 1 looked good!

Unless things change drastically, it looks like the Marlins will be giving lots of teams reason to like their chances.

A team from North America will be "World Champions".

The Cubs will NOT win the World Series! That's about as far out on the limb as I can go baseball is a peculiar game when it comes to what's on paper and what actually happens.
