Go Seahawks Go!

The Norris Division was so bad between 1985-86 and 1989-90, that the Toronto Maple Leafs made the playoffs 4 times in 5 seasons with a cumulative record of 144-223-33 (.401 winning %).

As a lifetime Leafs fan, even horrible stretches like that would be considered "good times".

OK, so my pants are down and my homer is showing. But form more than just my own selfish fan desires, I hope they win this Saturday. Just so all of the experts who have spent so much of their creative efforts to demonstrate how pathetic the 'Hawks are, and how undeserving the team and by association, it's fanbase, are of this post-season gift.

Truly, I would love them to go deep into the playoffs if for no other reason than to be annoying to everyone else. And then I shall do this.

So, if Seattle is worst playoff team and if they somehow beat New Orleans, does that automatically vault the Saints to the top of the list as the worst playoff team ever? Oh, the pressure!

It should be "worst team to make the playoffs", not "worst playoff team". A team that gets swept in a 4-game series, or loses a one-game match-up by some hideous score would be considered the "worst playoff team".

As a Jets fan, I'm in no position to mock the Seahawks.

And for the record it is my belief that Seattle is going to get blown to smithereens this Saturday.

But hope, she do spring eternal, no?

If you don't believe in your team, who will?

Apparently nobody but people that like to paint their faces blue and flourescent green. I have found over the course of 30+ years of belief in my team that it didn't win a single game. As a fan of the NW pro teams one learns to hedge their bets and keep expectations low so that the eventual collapse is less painful. It worked for me in 2001 and 2005.

Besides, hope and belief are two seperate things.

Besides, hope and belief are two seperate things.

As any fan of the Bengals or Lions will vouch for. Keep the dream alive, THX, just don't put a single cent where your heart is.

Bingo. It usually kills me in the pick 'ems, too.
