What an odd season. Three in season coaching changes, Peyton Manning becoming an interception machine and who would have thought that the Derek Anderson signing would have turned out the way it did (oh right, nevermind).

I'm not surprised if this has happened. With the possibility of a lockout around the CBA if you don't make the change now then any off-season firing could leave the new coach with zero time to work with the players.

Doing it now at least lets an interim coach audition for the role and put his stuff in place if he turns out to be worth a long term opportunity.

Word is the interim HC is running backs coach Eric Studesville, who hasn't even been an offensive coordinator anywhere, at any level of the game, let alone a head coach.

McDaniels worked hard at that firing. Mission accomplished.

wow, seems like the Bill Belicheat coaching tree has nothing but a bunch of dead limbs

Well observed. That's clearly because they have to cheat to win.

Well, Rex better have some excuse/reason after tonight. That was a straight punch in the face, total KO. There are few big mouths who have yet to deliver that i enjoy getting crushed as much as Rex.

Daniels got off on the wrong track with Cutler and everything after that has been downhill. hard for a player to respect a coach who has no respect for the player or the person.

Worth noting Pat Bowlen's role in this. Hopefully for Denver fans' sake, he won't continue helping the rest of the league by providing on the job vetting of youngsters who are nowhere near ready to be head men.

I wonder how McDaniels was able to suppress the snotty, clueless side of his personality when he was rising through the ranks on Belichick's staff. I can picture Belichick being able to tolerate arrogance but not outward combativeness and reckless idiocy.

So McDaniels runs off Brandon Marshall and Jay Cutler, spends a first rounder on Tim Tebow and is already gone.

Perhaps it was not the best idea to replace Mike Shanahan with a 33-year-old.

So McDaniels...spends a first rounder on Tim Tebow and is already gone.

At least Tebow's jersey is selling well.

I thought it was a terrible move for the Jaguars to pass up Tebow and draft Tyson Alualu instead. But Alualu and fellow DT Terrence Knighton have eight sacks this season, giving the Jags a desperately needed pash rush.

You would think when the brand new, unproven coach wanted to run off talent, the owner might intervene. No such luck for Broncos fans.
