Friends, Pittsburghers Chew Up Roethlisberger: Today's New York Times has a long inside-the-helmet look at Ben Roethlisberger that gives some childhood friends and Pittsburgh locals another chance to call him a nice guy who became an arrogant self-entitled boor after NFL success went to his head. "He became a joke in this town and, in my industry, a laughingstock," said the general manager of Tad's, a trendy Southside Pittsburgh bar. "It grew into something he lost control of and it turned on him."
I can never tell when the Times is going to pop up a login screen over a story. User accounts are free there.

There's an addon for Firefox called BugMeNot which can log you into sites like NYT.com, also...for those of us that don't want to sign up to sites all the time...

I guess I'll figure it out when I get on a home computer. As a long-time (former) bartender, Bengal fan, and Miami U alum, Lord knows I love me some Roethlisberger-bashing. Probably to the point that it's unhealthy and unwarranted.

During Kordell Stewart's time in Pittsburgh, a number of things went to his head, but I think it's fair to say that success wasn't one of them.
Speaking of nimble, athletic Steeler QB's, with Roethlisberger not able to participate much at this point, I'm hoping to see healthy doses of Dennis Dixon out there during the preseason. That guy had Oregon humming until he got hurt. I'd like to see what he can do at the pro level.
I haven't seen an image or video of him in uniform in awhile. I hope he's been in the weight room. He looked like he needed to build it up a bit last I saw.

I too await the Dixon era and hope it comes soon.

That probably has something to do with winning two less Super Bowl's than Roethlisberger.

That, or the weird slug-like parasite on his neck, which obviously controlled his mind when it came to costly interceptions and fumbles, as well as bad haircuts.
