Chad Ochocinco makes one young fan's dream come true: Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco(notes), formerly Chad Johnson, may have a slight strain of the diva receiver characteristic, but there's a humanity that has always separated him from the Keyshawns and T.O.s of the world
Great story.
I realized after the 2010 season that I just had to find a way to ignore Ocho's negative aspects and give him a pass because he does have positive aspects, no question.
He started winning me over when he tried out as a placekicker and went out and nailed some kicks during the preseason.
If he were just a bit more focused and productive on gameday, everything would be OK. The bolder he behaves during the week, the less productive he seems to be on Sunday.
Meanwhile, he made that kid's year, at the very least.

Great link. Ochocinco always struck me more as a person who was out there having fun than one whose antics are a self-promotional strategy. I had forgotten about his placekicking.
I saw one of the Dancing with the Stars episodes (just one, honest), and when fellow contestant Jake Pavelka learned he had survived another week, he ignored his partner and instead leapt into Ochocinco's arms and was carried like a toddler. They had presumably decided to do this beforehand. Ochocinco's a funny guy.

He's honestly one of the funniest people I follow on Twitter, and he does a lot of really cool things with his influence. See the below:
and a picture with all the winners.

And also, have you ever seen more ego in one picture than this one?
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, that is the one and only Jose Mourinho.

I like Ocho. He always seems like much less of an ass then TO or Keyshawn and the other clowns. I really feel he just loves the game and is a funny guy. He does the stuff he does to be entertaining not because he is all about himself. The trash talk and joking with other teams is something that is missed in the NFL.
He is also the king of twitter. Last season when he was in pittsburgh, he sent something saying the first two people to show up at his hotel and find him would get to go shopping with him. . Rumor in Pittsburgh is he dropped close to $20,000 at the mall that day. He told them get what you want. Its your day to act like a millionaire.
He also buys meals for people. or movie tickets. Just seems like a fun guy to be around.
That being said as a player, I hope he has a terrible year and only cathces like 30 balls.(none against Pittsburgh). But i like the guy

I enjoyed see this side of the guy. I will think differently about him from now on.

That was really nice. It seems that Ochocinco has really benefited with the crossover exposure that came with Dancing With The Stars, he has really become genuinely likable.
