Rugby League gets enough bad publicity. Now, the Under 16s are getting into it.

Burress goes away for two years, starting today. Should be released in time to make late mini-camps for preseason 2011. Think he'll be on any team's 2011 opening day roster?

Does that one kid get in a kick on the guy on the ground and then immediately sock the guy being held by the others? What an asshat.
I'm just wondering what other sports leagues do when it comes to minors and fighting. Junior hockey players in Canada fight, and it's a celebrated part of the game with websites and YouTube clips to rank the fighters, etc.

Someone will have plex running a fade route for them in 2011. No doubt. Cant teach a guy to be tall.

All 52 FIFA U-20 World Cup matches will air on an ESPN network or ESPN360, beginning Thursday.

During the Dolphins final drive one of the announcers commented that it was the slowest two minute drill he had ever seen. I agree entirely. The clock management was pitiful.

Skee-lo paging NoMich
Classic! When I read NoMich's comment, that was actually my first thought and the very next post was yours which had me dying because you thought the same thing. Good catch!

Who knew Skee-lo was a Detroit Lion's fan? Let's catch up with what he's been doing these days.
OK, that's uncalled for. But it is interesting to note that there is more action in the stands than on the field.

When I was talking to my brother about Ernie Sims missing yet another tackle he mentioned that he wasn't paying attention because he was watching some girls get taken out of the stadium. I guess that is what he was talking about.

Good for Lions fans, though. They had something to cheer for and that's nice, I think.

Did you or your brother hear the "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry" chants? That bit was priceless.

Unfortunately, I'm about three hours from Ford Field so I can't go to the games regularly. I'd have to ask him.
On the bright side, when games are blacked out I can still watch them since I'm outside the blackout radius.

Dude, he said tall.

During last night's MNF game, when the Dolphins couldn't get off a play before the two minute warning after starting their final drive offense with two ugly running plays and no urgency, I turned the game off.
Outcome decided. I couldn't watch any more of that kind of thing.
I'll bet Parcells was thrilled to watch his team play sleepy, clueless clock football in crunch time.
On his Giants staff back in the day, he had a guy who (credit where credit is due) was a capable game clock manager, and helped them win games they might have otherwise lost. The one, the only, the immortal --- Ray Handley.
