Mayor Steelerstahl: Pittsburgh mayor begins process to change his name from Luke Ravenstahll to Luke Steelerstahl.

"On behalf of the Steelers Nation, I've decided to remove the word 'Ravens' from my name just like the Steelers will remove them from the AFC Championship."

I was going to be critical, but now that you've pointed out that his name contains "Ravens," I find this kind of charming actually. I hope he drops this after the game, whomever wins, but I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks for the link!

In a further pathetic display of being completely consumed by a team affiliation, Mayor Whatzisnutz had the numbers of the Steelers defensive line tattooed on his bell end to ensure consistent penetration. He also named his dog "Browns" and kicks its ass every time it nears him.

The article mentions he started the process but that he hasn't paid the fee, and no one expects him to finish the application.

I assumed he hadn't paid the fee because his job doesn't pay well enough to swing a $108 purchase.

How about keeping the name through the Super Bowl? I'm sure Philly mayor Michael Nutter and the Eagles would love to put him, and his city, in their place.

If the mayor really wanted to see the Steelers through to the SuperBowl, he'd stick to his German heritage and re-name himself Fahrtstahl, which means journey of steel.

That has a nice ring to it.

But none of this matters. He's changed his mind. Now he's decided to move to Japan and change his name to Nippon Ham Fighterstahl.

Philly mayor Michael Nutter

Now there's a name appropriate to the city.

In a related story, Nutter's going to chance his name to Mayor Fickleboo

Or try to drive out the Poles.

This guy is just some douche looking for some free publicity and guess what(?), he found it.

I wonder if he's going to be voted back into office for showing his loyalty?

I like local officials doing stuff like this and exchanging smack before a playoff game. One year that Dallas and Philly were in the playoffs, the Dallas mayor issued a proclamation renaming Philadelphia cream cheese within the city's borders.

Ah, tahoemoj, you just mad because the Browns didn't make the playoffs.

I find this rather funny myself, but that is just me.

However, I do think an all Pennsylvania Super Bowl would be nice.

beaverboard, how would you pronounce that? Fartstall? (phonetically speaking) : )

Ah, tahoemoj, you just mad because the Browns didn't make the playoffs.

I'm not mad, I just can't let an opportunity to make fun of a dummy pass by without at least taking a swipe! And I meant my comments purely in fun.

[indignation] But you, ma'am have insulted me at the deepest level, and I shan't forget the hurtful things you said to me. I, my dear, have the unique misfortune to be a Bengals fan, and the implication that I cheer for the Cleveland Browns cuts at my very fiber. Were you a gentleman and I near enough to do so, I would challenge you to a duel to the death, or at least until one of us starts crying.

gathers up remaining dignity and wanders off to the therapist

tahoe,

I think you meant: I, my dear, have the unique misfortune to be the Bengals fan,...

My son is at Penn State. If it's an all PA Super Bowl, he and his roommate (a fellow Pats fan) plan to barricade themselves in their room, put Three Games to Glory (Patriots Super Bowl videos) into the DVD player and turn the volume up. The rest of the semester will be spent in surliness, while growling at anyone wearing either Eagles or Steelers colors. As long as his GPA stays above 3.3, he'll be fine.

tahoemoj, sorry if I impunged you reputation. You have my deepest apologies.

And I think you are near to me, you're in Tigertown, right, and I am in the "Hall of Fame (football, of course) City".
