Whoa! I missed this news! Holy shit. I'm so sorry to hear about your legs, but I'm glad you're okay now. Wow.

Folkways, glad to hear you're doing better. Here's to your continued recovery.

You'd think that if the invasive bacteria was having fun with your legs, they could at least have let you have a go-round or two with 'em. Glad to hear that the rest of you made it out in one piece though. Best of luck!

I had no idea that you were going through all of this. It sounds like you are in good spirits, and looking to get into even better spirits (mmmmm...stout...) though. Cheers, folkways, and welcome back.

Wow, folkways, talk about a supersized meal of suck with extra suck sauce on top! I'm so sorry to hear about your legs. I have to ask -- are you going to become our resident murderball expert? ;-)

A buddy of mine from my military days lost both his legs after a horrific car crash about three years ago, and one of the first things he said to me when I talked to him after he got out of surgery was, "Jesus, man, think of all the money I'm gonna save on shoes and socks!" Of course, he always was a sick fucker. Best of luck, Folkways; Pensacola's an awesome place to be. I got to grow up in that area, and served at NAS Pensacola while I was in the Navy. My aircrew class' picture might still be on the wall at Trader Jon's. If it still exists, get Gary to take you to S.S. Casino Nuevo.

Damn man I had no Idea either. If I get down that way I'll stop and have a drink with ya. I am not sure about that stout though, maybe some of these will be a little better. On a more humorous note I have a friend that I worked with at the fire station who lost his lower right leg in a motorcycle wreck. Now when the mail lady brings the mail to the station he takes his leg off and tells her "I'll show you mine if you show me yours!" Take care, and email if you ever want to chat.

Glad to see your back. I was actually going to email you to see how things were when I saw a recent comment. Email me when you're ready for that stout. My aircrew class' picture might still be on the wall at Trader Jon's. Unlikely. Trader Jon's closed a couple years ago. Last I knew they were making a section for Trader Jon memorabilia at the Naval Aviation Museum. Not sure if it ever happened. Also saw recent talk about a possible new Trader Jon's restaurant at an upcoming maritime park. get Gary to take you to S.S. Casino Nuevo Hmm, never heard of it.

Folkways, glad to hear that you're back in circulation. Too bad I didn't get the news until today, as I was at Eglin over the weekend (flight testing) and had a few hours to myself. McGuire's would have been a great idea.

Folkways, I will definitely buy the next time I am down your way. It may not be a dark beer, though. I tend to dislike beer that I have to chew. Welcome back.

I just wanted to say Hi Yall and thanks for all the well wishs from my SpoFi family. Out of the hospital(s) once again snd doing just fine. Ive moved from my nice country place in the hills of north-east AL to the sands of Pensacola FL as well. Just to add insult to injury I had to have both legs amputated due to a degenerative bone infection and MRSA but haveing spent the last 15 years in a wheelchair it hasnt been a major change for me. Still, I have to have one more operation in a few months. Gary, now that im in your neck of the woods we should get togeather at McGuires for a Ruben and a stout!! I have not been able to be out and about much and dont really know anyone here. Thanks again all. Peace, Love and Happiness to you all, Jamey
