Yes Virginia, there's a $100,000 Stephen Strasburg card: Just weeks after a rare Stephen Strasburg card sold for over $16,000 on eBay, there's another one-of-a-kind Strasburg card, but this one is currently going for just more than $100,000...or the price of a small house. Is the phenom worthy of all this attention, hype and $100,000 card?

John Calipari's team isn't very bright: A number of schools released their athletic team's GPA's, and John Calipari's Kentucky basketball team didn't do so well. Their cumulative GPA was the worst among the athletic teams at UK, worst among the 9 SEC teams that released their GPA's, and worst compared to Louisville, Duke and Kansas. Considering his history, this can't reflect well on Coach Cal.

Five players named Heisman finalists: The Heisman Trophy is all set to be handed out this Saturday in New York. The five players up for the 75th edition of the award are Florida's Tim Tebow, Texas' Colt McCoy, Standford's Toby Gerhart, Alabama's Mark Ingram and Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh. So, is it Tebow's award (again), or will McCoy finally get his due? Or could Suh become the first purely defensive player to take home the hardware.

Greg Oden done for the season: Well, the injury bug has bitten Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden...again. The No.1 overall pick in the 2007 draft is out for the year after fracturing his left knee cap. So, in two seasons in the league, Oden will have played all of 21 games. Is he unlucky, or this generation's Sam Bowie?

Entire Wedding Party Wearing Ravens Jerseys: Not sure if I'd go this far, but here's a video of an entire wedding party wearing Baltimore Ravens jerseys. The bride has on a Joe Flacco #5 jersey, while the groom sports a Ray Lewis jersey. Complete with the groom imitating Lewis' pregame dance. No confirmation whether Kyle Boller caught the bouquet.

F-bomb gets dropped at end of Richmond vs. Villanova telecast: Funny video clip of the ending of the Villanova/Richmond game (Villanova won 21-20), where someone (not sure who) calls the Richmond kicker a "bum" then says "just end the effing game." The game was carried by Comcast, and seems to be legit. Video is NSFW for the f-bomb.

ESPN's Steve Phillips caught in affair with 22-year-old production assistant: Recently revealed that ESPN baseball analyst Steve Phillips had an affair with a 22-year-old production assistant, who then allegedly went all "Fatal Attraction" on him after the breakup. Phone calls, a graphic letter (with a vivid description of Phillips' crotch), and even a fake Facebook account to get family info from Phillips' kid. Weird stuff.

Sources: Shanahan turned down Redskins coaching job: According to a report on Fanhouse, the Washington Redskins tried to hire Mike Shanahan to replace Jim Zorn, but the former Broncos coach refused. However, the "sources" also said that Shanahan did not rule out reconsidering the offer in the offseason. Apparently Shanahan turned down the offer because he believes that there's very little he could do to reverse the Skins fortunes at this stage of the season, and that mid-season coaching changes rarely work. Why doesn't Dan Snyder just fire Zorn and get it over with.

Louisville Sets Sights on Gruden for Possible Opening: This rumor was posted on the NFL.com blogs regarding the football head coaching job at the University of Louisville. Current head coach Steve Kragthorpe is on the hot seat, and it seems the school already has a high-profile coach on their radar -- Jon Gruden. If Kragthorpe gets canned, will Gruden leave the MNF booth to coach at a mid-level Big East program?

Brady Quinn's House Up For Sale: Pro Football Talk is reporting that Brady Quinn's house in Cleveland is on the market. Newsworthy? Maybe, considering that a) he's lost the job to Derek Anderson despite D.A.'s 2 for 17, 15 yard performance against the Bills, and b) the NFL trade deadline is October 20th. Many experts don't think Quinn will be moved, but those same experts said the same thing when Jay Cutler's house in Denver went up for sale--just days before his trade to Chicago. So, is Quinn gone or what?
