I'm glad you've all become literary critics today. The story is a sad one whether you like M. Albom or not. I think the point of the link is, "the story is moving", not necessarilly the writing. Perhaps the subject has been overdone a bit, but in times of war we should expect it to be. Instead of ripping Albom, sympathize with the family and friends of all of those that have fallen in battle.

I didn't know this was a flame fest, thanks for starting the day off right Dav, your insight is remarkable. I think the NBA is still full of thuggery, albeit a bit better dressed thugs. I found the Artest incident reprehensible at the time and still do. I think the only way to make the NBA even a little bit "watchable" is to take away the guaranteed multi year contracts and have the players "fight" for something important...like a spot on the roster.

The lifetime ban may be appealed after two years. Apparently this policy will start beginning in 2006 and will include previous offenses, sort of like a "grandfathered in" clause. I like the fact this policy will actually keep the offenders out for a substantial amount of games. Having players sit out for 7 games in a 162 game season is just like giving them a vacation. Maybe this will get their attention. Good onya Bud.

Tyson at one point had the world in the palm of his hands, it really is sad to see that a 39 year old man STILL can't have any control of his own life. I think now, however, the fault is all his own. It should come as no surprise to him when reporters or cameramen follow him around. He is now it seems, his own worst enemy. What a waste of a great boxer. I really do feel sorry for him.

I particularly like the cue of the Brian Billick firing. The Ravens are an AWFUL football team. Nice write up, but I'll be keeping my money in-house this weekend.

Uhh..oscillator, lighten up. I like most people here are offering up our opinions. Nothing more. Perhaps an anger management class or two are in order.

I actually kind of like Berman as well. His "brand" of commentating is what MLB needs more of...less stick in the mud, more fan friendly excitement. His "nick names" have become a bit stale, but all in all I enjoy watching a game with him doing the color.

Whether Lance wins seven in a row or not is irrelevent. He is by far the best Tour cyclist ever. As "chicagobangs" said, "watch him now", his kind of greatness may never be seen in our lifetime again.

You couldn't pay me to go watch a bunch of thugs play hoops ever again. The NBA players act, talk and dress like a bunch of fools. The only skill they have left is the dunk. That's not professional basketball, it's playground.

Another Pulitzer for Mitch Albom?
I don't pick fights lbb, obviously you are prone to though. After seeing many of your holier than though postings, I should expect no less. My "yellow ribbon sticker" shall stay in place, thank you.
