Clemens to Astros?

A very insane amount of money, if those idiots are willing to pay, how can you blame Clemens for taking it? What do you expect, for Roger to say...I'm sorry but I can't accept an insane amount of money. Please

Financing OKd for Twins New Stadium

Just another example of the taxpayer getting stiffed while a major sports team owner gets richer. Would love to see the Twins ownership prove that they spend the added money they make putting a better product on the field.

(New) Home, James

Before you guys totally condem Edge for this you should wait and see what else the Cards do. They have already picked up two o-line free agents and have a ton of cap space. The draft is just six weeks away.

No progress, but talks might resume March 5

It's amazing what happens to even the most successful and richest of pro sports once the greed factor kicks in. It makes me sick. Birk is right, this sort of stuff will put football back where it was before the last strike. The article says they are fighting over 4% (10 million per team). Out of the billions of $ the NFL brings in every year one would think 10 M wouldn't be that big of a deal. Maybe they should just donate that 10M to charity and call it even. Everybody comes out smelling like a rose that way.

Sucker-punch drunk in the NHL front office

Weedy...I used to watch. When my boys got old enough to sit and watch sports with me and go to a few games they asked me once why the players were always fighting. I didn't have a good answer for them. What would you tell your kids?

Sucker-punch drunk in the NHL front office

My point is this could be one of the reasons alot of other people don't watch either and hockey will never be more than a 3rd string sport. You are welcome.

Sucker-punch drunk in the NHL front office

Just one of the many reasons I can't stand Hockey and refuse to watch it. Nice piece of writing.

Sherman fired after losing season.

after all that success, when I'm at the helm, I sink the ship. He inherited a decent team from Holmgren and in less than 6 years turned it into what it is today. Has nobody but himself to blame for the downfall of the Packers.

Sherman fired after losing season.

Only time will tell, but I would be willing to bet the Packers won't hire Mooch because of my previous reasons for firing Sherman. Nice post Rhino as I was wondering where that question fit in with this thread anyway.

Sherman fired after losing season.

I was thinking it would be an easy way to get rid of an over the hill hall of famer without taking a PR hit with the fan base. They fire Sherman, Farve decides to call it quits and the Packers have a reason to go into full rebuilding mode. They do it any other way and the s**t hits the fan with the fans.

Saints Will Leave San Antonio

I don't have a problem with Benson leaving or running his team as he sees fit. Why drag it out? Just let him leave now. To do something like this to save the NFL's face is what I have a problem with.

Saints Will Leave San Antonio

Wonder how much money the NFL is paying Benson to stay for one year to keep from taking the PR hit. Wait one year then ram it to the poor bastards that live in New Orleans.

Brett Favre & Marshall Faulk want to retire,

Farve is a class act, speaking as a Bears fan, I can't wait for him to retire. Anybody who would say he sucks should be at home watching Sponge Bob. Faulk was good but misused by two teams during his prime years. No way to know now how good he could have been. I worry that the Bears now have their own version of Farve (Grossman) only with just as many mistakes and not enough arm or receiver talent to overcome.

Ooh, we all have playoff fever!

Why don't they just have all the teams make the play-offs, then they wouldn't need a regular season and we wouldn't have to watch this garbage for six months. Baseball is just around the corner thank god.

God Bless Ye Merry NFL

How can it be better? Spending Christmas day with your family and watching the Bears crush the Packers and winning the #2 seed for the playoffs in the evening. Merry Christmas everybody!

Does this guy have any credability left?

If somebody could provide scientific proof the a shot of B-12 can cause a positive test then I would believe it. Untill then, Raffy is just as big a cheat as all the rest of them.

Just another sad story about a death at a sporting event!

ESPN did a piece on this subject on Outside the Lines last season. The NCAA has been trying to decide what to do about this for several years, now that somebody has been killed, maybe the schools will do something. We all know that if they wait on the NCAA to do anything several more people will be killed or injured first.

New Nets?????

It is a moot point at this time don't you think? If the owners and players can't get it together they can have a 10x10 net and it won't matter. They are commiting fan base suicide now anyway.

$3.5 Billion Offer For Entire NHL?

Seems a little high priced to me, considering they don't have an agreement with the players union. Have to wonder if this isn't a backhanded ploy by the owners to get terms they want from the players.
