Sorry about the article.. its kinda shitty, but I figured that it was kinda interesting. The Twins definately need a new stadium though, the Metrodome just dosen't cut it.

Just another example of the taxpayer getting stiffed while a major sports team owner gets richer. Would love to see the Twins ownership prove that they spend the added money they make putting a better product on the field.

This has been a long time coming. The 'ThunderDome' is a TERRIBLE place to watch a ballgame; the seats are not positioned well, the old surface was WAY to bouncy, the roof was terrible for pickinig up the ball visually. That all being said, it WAS called 'THunderDome' for a reason and this is probably the one thing that the Twins will miss. Of course, if they continue to draw only 20,000 fans, then the sound isn't an issue anyway. I am looking forward to making a trip back and seeing real baseball played on real grass. The St. Paul Saints may just get some competition for being the most enjoyable team to watch play in the area. I was glad to see that Pohlad was making a 25% contribution to the construction costs, but would have liked to see that figure a bit higher. Also, in the article, the Gophers are getting a new field for football. God, I hope it is back on campus where they belong, anyone from the Cities able to give more info on this? Also, does this mean the Vikes are going to get their wish now also?

So Minnesota has managed to avoid Step #4. What a relief for Twins fans.
