If my team was 0 and 80 with a slugging % of 0 I still wouldn't consider having B.B. on my team. And anybody that don't believe he took steriods has their head in the sand. All the proof I need is in the photo albums and the stat books. You don't get older and improve. Take my word for it.

I suppose we all have our preferences. I long for the days of " Run what you brung" Back then the manufactures did most of the cheating. You had to have a minimum number of cars on the dealers floor before he could race a paticular model of car. No problem just fudge the paper work a little and away you go. The extra lap or two of fuel hidden in the 2" diameter fuel transfer line that did any number of loops and bends between the fuel tank and the engine compartment. Everybody knew the tricks and everybody used them. As for the number of drivers who can win. Granted there are more. But now it's the 2 or 3 OWNERS who have a chance to win. Hendrix,Roush,Childress. The rest will notch a win or two during the season but that's about it. Give me the good old days and boys. Tell Winston they are more than welcome to come back.

My play or lack of a play was the dropped interception by Samuel during that last two minutes. He makes the INT and the game is over. The second play was the Manning escape from the three Pats defensive players. If another defender would have come in and laid a hit on him while he was in their grasp he would have gotten an unnecessary roughness penalty. Thats my perspective. All of that didn't happen so congrats to the Giants.

What did they expect from Kimmel. That is what he does. He hit the nail on the head when he said there are sacred cows that cannot be made fun of. The same applies in all of our sports broadcasts. When the broadcasters and networks are beholding to the atheletes and owners for their livelehoods what you get is all watered down with a lot of bull. As for making fun of owners, former players, and other " personalities " , go for it. Nobody is making us watch these programs

If Kobe wants to be traded he should see Mr. Buss personaly. This bullshit of using the media to trade barbs is beyond bush league. I thought the Laker organization had more class. As for him missing practice so what. Remember Shaq??? He would wait to the start of the season to have his feet and legs operated on. Thats no story. If I were the Lakers I would wait and make Kobe beg to be traded.

Well lets see. A one game playoff to determine a champion. If you happen to draw an umpire who owes his life to a bookie ,you lose. If you happen to draw a referee who has a hard on for a paticular player, you lose. Cities who spend hundreds of millions on stadia on the "if come" of their team making it into the playoffs and generating tons of dollars being spent in their bars, resturants, hotels etc. cry foul because they get one game only. Oh yeah the players unions would certainly go for this new idea. Not!!!!

What all the broadcasters need is objective reporting. Quite a few broadcasters have other interests within Nascar that shade their willingness to give honest opinions. These so called experts miss lots of happenings at the race because they are busy watching what their other interests are doing. The only " expert " I thought did a good job was Ned Jarret. When his son screwed up he was up front about it and when he won the Daytona 500 he was his biggest cheerleader. When Nascar cuts people out of the reporting loop they do nothing but cut off their own noses just to piss off their faces. The more the merrier.

If the Plils averaged a 160 game schedule since their inception back in 1883 and they are coming up on their 10,000 loss they would have to play .500 ball over that 124 year span. Some teams would love to average .500 for more than one season. The heck with the ground crew.

" Back in the day " a lot of players had a job during the off season. This taught them what it was like to earn a real living rather than being paid huge sums because they stayed in the gym to build muscle or field ground balls or practice jump shots when they should have been in class getting a real education. FOR FREE. No sympathy from this fan. If you want to dance you gotta pay the fiddler.

If I were one of the guys harassed by the prosecutor and it were at all possible I would sue his miserable ass for all he has and will ever have. Pete Rose bet on baseball. Baseball players and football players use steroids to enhance their performance. Both are against the rules. Will BB be kept out of Cooperstown or some football player kept out of Akron because they used steroids??? I think not. If the rules on steroids were enforced like the gambling rule all convicted players would be banned for life and not allowed into their respective Halls. Don't hold your breath............
posted by Ironhead at 05:59 PM on March 20, 2007
If anyone believes Pete Rose bet on his team to lose they don't know anything about Pete Rose. This guy never bet on any kind of loser. Horses, baseball, football or any type of wager. Whether he did or did not bet and how much he bet should not keep him out of the Hall of Fame. This is not a character contest. If it was you could remove some noteworthy players. If you hold the record for most hits in a career you belong in the Hall. Enough said.

What a bunch of whinners. As far as nascar deciding who should have won is a load of bull. Who would have been a more popular winner than Mark Martin. It would have been one of the greatest wins in Daytona history. Right alongside Earnhardt Sr. and D.W. Get over it.

I would have liked it if Martin would have won. Having said that I am just as pleased that Harvick won. It's called " racin " I don't want to hear all the B.S. about when the yellow " should have " been shown. It was thrown when it was thrown. Be happy for the winner and say better luck next time to the runner up.

Johnson survives tire debacle at Indianapolis
My take on the race or lack there of. No doubt Goodyear dropped the ball. If I had bought a $100 ticket I would be pissed. Remember what F1 did when they had the tire problem a couple years ago at Indy. They gave any returning fan a ticket to the next race and that is exactly what NASCAR should do. Todays race was more of a 8 lap trophy dash than a 400 mile race For a sport that is trying to compete with the stick and ball guys todays exhibition leaves a lot to be desired.
