The last time a Cleveland QB did what Shedeur Sanders just did - win his first game as a rookie starter - the Browns were owned by Art Modell and Bill Belichick was the coach. The Ravens didn't even exist yet (but soon would).

I'm late with this, but it still comes with best wishes. Take care of yourself, do what the physicians tell you, and get well soon. Praying for your recovery.

Can't go with my Celtics against Pistons. With Queeta out for injury (ankle) C's bigs are now Luka Garza, Xavier Tillman, and Chris Boucher. This is not a trio which strikes fear into the opposition. I won't be at the game. Going to family in CT for Thanksgiving, so we go on Wednesday to try to avoid the traffic. I put the Celtics tickets up for auction at a fundraiser for my church, and they brought in about $300.

Add Cal to the list of college jobs that would be possible good landing spots for Pete Carroll.
They have fired Justin Wilcox.

This morning, I find myself wanting to say something I've mostly said in jest in the past:
How 'bout them Cowboys?
That was impressive.

Take it easy and heal up well, NoMich. Glad things sound like they're going smoothly.

A note for Penn State fans, whose football team has perhaps the plainest uniforms of any major program and few variations of them.
I wondered how much Oregon spent on their dazzling and ever changing uniforms per season.
If they enter the 2025-26 CFP bracket without a bye and get all the way to the championship game, using a rough estimate of uniform cost per player and a count of their current roster size, regardless of who pays for the uniforms, the total cost would be around $1.1 million.

The Chiefs have Arrowhead and desperation on their side today. The Colts are the better team this season but I think they'll lose this one. I'm picking Dallas in the upset at home over Philly because I am starting to think the Cowboys have a defense again. The Jaguars are favored by 1.5 points today. It seems like every time they are a favorite it is a scrawny number like that. But I'll take it.
Sorry I missed the Rams/Bucs game. I don't want to fix that this late because some players won't check here today.

I'm home now. It was just an overnight stay in the hospital. Pain management and sports on tv is my plan for the weekend.

Damn. Hang in there, glad you're getting good treatment and care.
From what I know, great medical community in the Triangle and thereabouts.
Take things easy with the upcoming holiday. Hope you're home by then.

I'm back online.
On Thursday I had my cancerous prostate removed. The suture sites are still quite painful and I get to pee in a bag for the next week and a half, but hey, I'm now cancer free without all of that awful chemo and radiation stuff.

What in the everloving spontaneous sinkhole is going on with college football in the state of Florida? FSU sucks, the Gators suck, the shine has completely gone off of the U. What gives?

SportsFilter: The Wednesday Huddle
You know how some families are at the holidays. People not talking to each other at Thanksgiving.
It might happen here because OK State has just hired Eric Morris away from North Texas.
Y'all try to get along with each other, please.
