Bob Costas - Patrick Arnold Interview: For those without HBO. Originally aired on July 24, Bob Costas went in depth with Patrick Arnold - the key chemist and man behind "the clear" in the BALCO case.
Jim Grey is the most annoying sportscaster in the world, hands down. But Bob Costas is a close second. Such an annoying little man.

With all the pundits who think Costas would a good commissioner, I'd pick my battles a little more carefully if I were Barry.......

Costas is an annoying little man, but his response to Bonds' "midget" remark was pretty funny: "Anyone can plainly see that I'm five-six-and-a-half and a strapping 150 pounds, and, unlike some people, I came by it all naturally."

"I guess it's possible that Barry had never tasted flaxseed oil and said, 'Well, I guess this is flaxseed oil.' But it's pretty hard to believe." I've never tasted flaxseed oil. I have no idea what it should taste like. Why is it hard to believe? I'd be surprised if a significant percentage of people have tasted flaxseed oil. Also, Arnold admits never meeting Bonds and also admits he doesn't know for sure that Bonds "program" included steroids. Of course, we mustn't forget that we are getting information from a convicted felon who just MIGHT be looking for away to make some money in the future. I'm not saying that Bonds didn't use steroids, but I am saying that this guy has just about as much credibility talking about the Bonds situation as this woman does.

With all the pundits who think Costas would a good commissioner I'm pretty sure all those "pundits" are media mouthpieces who get their jollies thinking about one of their own having a chance to be in a position of power, instead of reporting on those in a position of power. Why in the world would the MLB owners ever choose Bob Costas as a commissioner?

According to Game of Shadows, Barry was paying $10K for whatever he was taking. I never bought flaxseed oil. And granted that Barry probably doesn't spend much time comparison shopping at his local Vitamin Shoppe store, but I find it hard to believe anyone thinks flaxseed oil is that expensive.

but I find it hard to believe anyone thinks flaxseed oil is that expensive. Was the $10k for just one drug, or was it for the whole pharmacological workup that the company provides for him? In much the same way I wouldn't pay $100 for a diet supplement, I would pay $100 if it was just one part of a physical trainer's excercise and diet plan.

It was closer to the former ($10K/drug) than the latter ($10K for whole thing). He was paying out a ton of money for illegally buying drugs. But, if you are extending your career at $20M a year, it's chump change.

I Know segregation is worst than steroids so if barry bonds records are taken off the books then every record during segregation should be taken off as well.these same people hated hank aaron. and he didn,t take steroids. the word for this type of behavior is called RACISM.

You want to expand on that until it, y'know, makes sense?

I'd love to hear his theory on Michael Vick or any one of several bicycle racers.

After hearing it, it gets harder and harder to think that Bonds didn't know what he was taking. We are to beleive that Bonds is that stupid, that he won't ask anything about what he's given. And just takes the stuff. Ya, RIGHT! Record will be broken for the home runs, but not by an honest man!
