Sports Agent Convicted of Smuggling.: Smuggling HGH you may ask? No .. smuggling baseball players out of Cuba and harboring them in the United States for profit. Evidence includes $225,000 in payments to purported drug trafficker and Cuban smuggler Ysbel Medina. It's like Baseball's version of Miami Vice starring El Duque.

you are absolutely correct we dont do anything about the " illegals " in this country and its a crying shame that there are these organizations out there that cry when they get captured and actually protest to keep them here, it sickens me, and makes me very angry

The general attitude toward illegal immigrants disturbs me greatly. Perhaps because I'm an immigrant myself. (Fully legal I might add.) Hatemongering and prejudice. That's all it is. I would ask for people to rationalize it, but I know they can't beyond simple hate driven hyperbole. As for this guy smuggling baseball players... How on earth did he fit them inside the condom and swallow them?

Once these players are here, they have been somehow made legal under US law. Otherwise they would not be able to obtain employment. They are, I assume, declaring their income and paying the required taxes upon it. I would like to contrast to the above with the situation of illegal aliens who are smuggled across the borders in the southwestern US. These people frequently suffer death or injury in their attempt, and if they succeed, they are usually exploited by employers. In many cases they do not declare their income, do not pay taxes upon it, and often use social services that are paid for by the taxpayers. I do not have any argument with one who is so desparate as to risk his life to come here. My argument is with those who encourage it by continuing to illegally employ these people. I also argue with those who in one way or another refuse to confront the problem. By this I mean those who are charged with enforcing the laws, but will not, and those who would abandon any laws regarding immigration. If we are to solve the problem, the rhetoric must be toned down and a rational approach found.

The last people to ignore the immigration problem were the American Indians. Look how it worked out for them

Everybody but the American Indians are illegal aliens here, if you want to get down to the basics.....The moronic jerk we all call agents or scouts that all doing all this with the approval of the major leagues only have one thing on their minds...$$$$$$$$$$$bottom line here is people will go to the games to see these illegal aliens because they like the sport and enjoy watching baseball whether it is being played by illegal aliens or not...

Let me get this straight: Dominguez, co-founder of TSI Inc. and prominent agent, faces up to 205 years for smuggling players big league baseball prospects from Cuba?!!? Smuggling is not the issue, it appears, but the direct link to baseball that made it a huge issue. I wonder the future for the recipient of the $225k, who IS a known drug dealer. Mr. Dominguez, Hint: Go to Mexico, walk over the border where drug snipers have their aim at our border patrol, and there is not much we do to illegals, then go to California, get an SSN from somebody and collect your money, Done. Illegal aliens come in every day to our country, but now when they "are linked to baseball," then it becomes egregious??? Wow.
