Barbaro Suffers Significant Setback.: Barbaro's co-owner Gretchen Jackson said. "We've been there before with him. He's a horse that wants to live."

Dear Barbaro, If you go to the cops about this "setback" I will slap a spousal abuse charge on your ass so fast, you'll wish it was all over at the Preakness. Now, WHO ARE YOU CALLING AT NIGHT?!? Yours, Joumana Kidd.

Barbaro is still alive? Wow. He kinda reminds me of Al Davis. Just won't go gently into that good night.

Al Davis isn't alive. It's a hologram. Not a lot of people know that.

I noticed that this was posted under the 'entertainment' section of CBS News... does this make Barbaro the biggest celebrity horse since Mr. Ed?

"He's a horse that wants to live." And if you've ever been around a suicidal horse, you know how wonderful this quality can be.

Al Davis isn't alive. It's a hologram. Not a lot of people know that. Hologram? Pssh. Al Davis spits on your newfangled technology. What I heard is that he set up a contract way back in the 60s with an organization that also supplies us with the sightings of Elvis, Jim Morrison, and dictators/leaders of certain undemocratic countries. But you didn't hear that from me.

This company threw in a few Elvis style jumpsuits to close the deal.

Al Davis studs?

Enough, already. I've been waiting for the Barbaro Steak Platter for so long now, I'm actually thinking about just ordering the Al Davis Soylent Green Combo Meal.

I'm with The_Black_Hand, Jeez American boys are dying every day in Iraq, the world is on the brink of global war and there are actually idiots that give a shit about a f-ing horse, which is just the plaything of some millionaire racing fan. Enough already, shoot the horse and use the money spent on saving him to do something useful like providing half the amount for medical care for a human being in need.

posted by Atheist at 10:36 AM on January 11, 2007

I sit here with a need for some glue, and there is a perfectly sick horse still alive? What has this world come to!

posted by pbrandguru at 12:55 PM on January 11, 2007

American boys are dying every day in Iraq, the world is on the brink of global war and there are actually idiots that give a shit about a f-ing horse And if they stop trying to save the horse the middle east will become disney land? I don't really care about the horse, but get some perspective. The 'world is ending put away your Xbox' site is over there --->.

Al Davis studs? Ewwwwwww. I think Mr. Ed is more popular that Barbaro.

Amen, JG.

What jg said. God, I hate people trying to tell me what I'm allowed to care about. Grind your own axe, don't conscript the whole world into grinding it with you.

What's worse, eating Al Davis or Al Davis studding? Studding? out to stud?

Save the horse, Save the Mideast.

Maybe Barbaro is some sort of religious savior that will bring peace to earth and good will to men.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 02:06 PM on January 11, 2007

Barbaro's message is that peace and good will can be found by crapping when and where you want, all the while being oblivious to it.

posted by forrestv at 02:49 PM on January 11, 2007

And yet executing that political strategy continues to fail to get the desired result. What gives, Barbaro?

posted by BullpenPro at 02:58 PM on January 11, 2007

But the day of Barbaro will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

posted by MrFrisby at 03:07 PM on January 11, 2007

But the day of Barbaro will come as a thief in the night Can we shoot him then? For the love of humanity, of course.

posted by tselson at 03:27 PM on January 11, 2007

Barbaro's message is that peace and good will can be found by crapping when and where you want, all the while being oblivious to it. Doesn't everyone do it like that?

posted by commander cody at 12:19 PM on January 12, 2007

Summers Eve, might that have been a reference to Heroes?

posted by hawkguy at 12:49 PM on January 12, 2007

Doesn't everyone do it like that? That just shows you how big a religious influence Barbaro has become.

posted by forrestv at 01:21 PM on January 12, 2007

Hawkguy the cheerleader can't even compare to Barbaro. Barbaro is the shit.

posted by Ying Yang Mafia at 05:03 PM on January 12, 2007

Barbaro is the shit. Is that like a Zen thing? You know. Picture the shit in your mind. Visualize yourself as the shit. Be the shit.

This thread stinks.

Barbaro's message is that peace and good will can be found by crapping when and where you want, all the while being oblivious to it. Another attribute he shares with Al Davis.
