Who's Next?: Now that Hurricanes' defenseman Glen Wesley has finally won a Cup, who's the new sentimental favorite to finally win one?

I was going to say me, but I guess not.

In all seriousness, I'm totally on board with the other four, but are there a lot of Luke Richardson fans out there?

but are there a lot of Luke Richardson fans out there? I suprisingly answered yes to that. I wouldn't mind seeing Mats Sundin win a cup, despite the uniform.

The only person on that list I would not be able to root for is JR. I just can't stand that guy. If I had to bet though, I would say that Scott and Teppo have the best chance this year.

Y'know, it's not so much me as Roenick; he's good. I thought he already won a Cup, when he made Gretzky's head bleed "for superfan number 99 over here." High on the Top 5 Videogame Movie Scenes of all time. Oh, and I'm picking Martin Straka.

Denis Savard! He won a Stanley Cup with Montreal in the 1992-93 season. From that list, I'd like to see Roenick win one, only because it would mean Wayne Gretzky wins one as a coach. That would add another shiny bauble to his collection as "the greatest living sports personality". If I'm not allowed to choose a Maple Leaf (and it would be Sundin), I'd probably go with Saku Koivu. He's had to overcome cancer and what might have been a career-ending eye injury. Sure, he's played less than 600 NHL games, but I'd still be rooting for him.

Didn't Straka win a cup with the pens? I would also go with Tony Amonte (if he is still even playing) the guy got traded off the 94 Rangers. Ouch!

Didn't Straka win a cup with the pens? nope. he was drafted in '92, just missing the pens last run. he was in the finals with florida in '96 when they were swept by colorado.

I'm struggling to come up with any other videogame movie clips.

Has Demitra ever won the Cup? Teemu deserves one after the goalie/clutch/grab-era stole a decade from him. I'd like to see Kariya get one too.

I would love to see Teemu Selanne get a Cup. If he got it this season (which could very well happen), that would be a preemptive strike against Pronger being a future sentimental favorite.

Didn't think of that angle. Niiice.

I'm struggling to come up with any other videogame movie clips. "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" has a good one. The Wonder Years kid is playing a video game at the beginning of "The Princess Bride." I dunno. "Wayne's World," maybe? It's not a very strong category.
