Richmond Flowers, who has become one of the most famous practice squadders in NFL history thanks to HBO's Hard Knocks, has been cut by the Cowboys. The weekly documentary series, which follows a different team in preseason each year, is a funny, intriguing, revealing look at training camp. Last week's episode included a discussion among several players about how much a player should be fined for soiling himself on the field.
I'm a lifelong Redskins fans and I watch Hard Knocks when I come across it while channel surfing. It, "is a funny, intriguing, revealing look at training camp". Good entertainment. Plus, I kinda think of it as spying on the enemy.

How could you not watch? The main storyline I've been following is Dave Campo's inability to swear properly: he'll throw 42 "damn"s into a 30 second speach where one well-placed f-bomb would do. It's especially interesting given that his special teams coach could make a rap group blush. Also, I'm hoping the cheerleading coach will die on camera. If you haven't seen the show, there's no good way to explain what an odious human being she is.

The cheerleading coach and her lackey are hilarious. They end every meeting by singling out cheerleaders one by one, insulting their looks or performance and telling them to get out. One of the highlights of the show was when they sat on the sidelines of a preseason game dictating insults into recorders. Anything that Campo lacks in profanity is made up by special teams coach Joe Avezzano. His sideline tirades while coaching Dallas' Arena Football League team -- also owned by Jerry Jones -- have been incredible. I keep expecting him to pop a blood vessel and keel over dead. Fox News has a story this morning on some of the recent goings-on in camp. They're going to start Chad Hutchinson instead of Quincy Carter in the next game, which is strange considering Carter's performance this preseason has been uniformly excellent. I wonder if Jones feels the need to make things more dramatic for HBO.

Richmond Flowers sounds like a minor league women's soccer team.
