Rozelle regretted games after Kennedy's death: It was Friday, Nov. 22, 1963, and President John F. Kennedy had been assassinated while he rode through the streets of Dallas in a motorcade, beginning a four-day period during which people around the world attempted to deal with the terrible news. But Rozelle's problem was more immediate. Should the seven games scheduled two days later be played or postponed?

What do we say to this one? I think it was a good move, I would have liked to see the country resume faster after the 9/11 tragedies. productivity is the fastest cure for heart-ache.

I would have liked to see the country resume faster after the 9/11 tragedies. After 9/11 we were still concerned about terrorists causing their havoc wherever large crowds gathered. There were greater reasons to cancel games than merely paying tribute.

I think this was one of the worst decisions ever made by a governing sports body. Maybe if the event had happened earlier in the week, & the funeral was over, but the assassination took place on Friday. Apparently even the TV network understood the importance of the events that were unfolding off the football. I have heard reports of some players that were really upset having to play. 9/11 was a different event. Travel was still restricted or non-existent on the 1st Sunday after, + there were concerns over large gatherings becoming a target. The NFL should not have played, although their descsion to play is on one the reasons for the NFL, as we know it today. It helped give the AFL credibility, which in turn led to one league.

For a second there I thought we were talking about the ex-MTV VJ. Thank God she's ok.

I'm old, and don't get the MTV hot babe references. Would one of you be kind enough to tell what the MTV JV reference is, and who the heck is Karen Duffy. Pics, if you can.

Did anyone else think she was really hot? The same way I just knew Lilith Crane would be a wildwoman when she let her hair down, I just knew that Kennedy would cavort like a minx when the glasses came off! wfrazerjr, this one's for you, bud.

I tried to add a link with the beautiful Ms. Duffy but could not figure out how to. I will take my verbal bashing like a man.

I will take my verbal bashing like a man. You shouldn't try to post a picture of Karen Duffy, Hater187. My cousin tried to post a picture of Karen Duffy once...once.
