many nfl analists say this is just another problem in a recoveriong franchise. Analysts who are heavily invested in the ink markets, perhaps.

I think the man is lucky nothing like this has happened before this. To have a streak that long in such a physical sport I think is great. I don't know much about football streaks and maybe someone with more knowledge can enlighten me but I think 121 is alot. I welcome anyone with actual data to post some stats for me so I can learn.

many nfl analists say this is just another problem in a recoveriong franchise. Strangely enough, not a single one of them was quoted in the snippet you posted (not big enough to be called an article). And, just out of curiosity, how is Tony Parrish a "team idol?" I didn't even know he could sing.

I live in the Bay Area and haven't heard Tony's name all year long. The 9er's suck so bad that this doesn't really qualify as news over here. The whole roster is full of guys you have never heard of. ESPN and other sports news sources have talked about the QB situation...but the real problem is on the O-Line...they are horrible. There isn't a QB in the league that could succeed behind that line, Vick included.

Quick, someone who took the overs point this guy to the AL MVP thread.

Parrish played in Chicago before going to the 9'ers. He wasn't a big name here either and he played in a secondary full of no names. If he's your idea of an idol in SF, they have much bigger problems than I first thought.

When your team sucks THAT BAD, then losing a player of Parishes caliber is a big thing- if you even bother to watch the games. Anyway, how many seasons do you think itll take em to get to te playoffs? 10, 20 100?!? lol
