Brazil v Turkey.: Predictions anyone?
3-1 Brazil. They're just too good.

Turkey: they caused them major problems first time round and Brazil are not as good as everyone thinks they are. Turkey have actually improved as the competition has progressed and it would be in keeping with this world cup to have a Germany -Turkey final, rather than the one everyone expects. Reasons to find the prospect of Germany v Turkey fascinating extend far beyond football, although the footballing reasons should be good enough for the incurious.

ok, updating my hobbled prediction: 1. Turkey 2. Germany 3. Korea 4. Brazil (still not betting)

Good move, SK. Betting has never been in order during this World Cup. That said, I have whopping 1,000 yen bet with a Nigerian down the street (about $8.00 U.S.) that Turkey will beat Brazil this time around. So my own hobbled prediction now goes like this: 1. Germany 2. Turkey 3. Korea 4. Brazil (betting fool, nay, idiot) My Nigerian buddy's pretty funny though. Just this morning, the guy says, "Y'know, odd thing about that Group of Death...it actually was, wa'n'it?" Oh, nevermind...

By the way, just to give you just some idea of how the co-hosts view one another (as if you didn't already know), this cheap little flash, even though it's all in Japanese, will give you the gist of it. The title translates loosely to something like, "K-Team -- those assholes that bought their way (to the top 4)"

Brazil 1 Turkey 1, with Turkey winning on penalties after extra time. I hope.

Brazil 2 - 1 Turkey. With Rivaldo getting kicked in the air.

In the same vein as Bixby23, this caused me to spray a good bit of cappuccino over my monitor. (Not wanting to bring back up the "whinging Italians" vs. "Lousy refs" debate, just something that amused me. It says "How do you write 'Italy' in Korean?") I'm pulling for Turkey, but every time I turn around to watch the TV (am working), I'm seeing Brasile all over the Turks. Very fast paced game though, and the Turkish defence is doing a bang up job. I hope the offence nails a couple of good ones; Turkey vs. Germany would be a great finale.

Brazil 1 Turkey 0, I am guessing that the scores remains the same at the end of the game. Now Germany vs. Brazil, I am expecting it to be 2 : 1

Here we go Turkey, here we go... Come on, Turkey, g-dammit! By the way, is the two-clap chant fairly common, or is the original Axis regrouping, as in: "Nip-pon! (clap-clap) Nip-pon! (clap-clap) ..." ..and observed during the Germany-Korea match: "Deutsch-land! (clap-clap) Deutsch-land! (clap-clap) ..." All of which reminds me of that old private joke between Japanese and German businessmen: "Next time let's do without Italy."

Ah well. Bra(s/z)il and Germany it is then. Just like I've been telling all my offline friends. :)

Brazil 2 Turkey 2, with a Brazilian golden goal to finish the match. It'd be a pity if the final was between the two 'old powers' though, what with all the suprises thus far.
