Ah, Yankees fans...: they're so cute when they're this age.

So this guy jumped to settle a debate over whether the net could hold his weight? In the New York Daily News, one of his pals seems to think that even without a net, the crowd below the upper deck would have caught him "like a mosh pit." I'm guessing we can't look forward to a cure for cancer coming from these guys.

And some say we shouldn't worry about the future.................;-)

After the game, Harper was carted from the ballpark on a stretcher, his head immobilized. Last night, he was undergoing scans to see if there was anything in it.

...and the scans came up negative...

This net guy caper was mentioned by fatma in a previous post. So, I'll repeat my comment: the media should treat these net guy pinheads like they treat the foul pole and run-on-the-field guys...no coverage. "Don't encourage him, Marge" said Homer. Hell, even discussing it here may encourage the nuts. Oh, forgot, no nuts here.

At first during the broadcast, they assumed, logically, that the guy had fallen accidentally. That's probably why the guy got the TV coverage in the first place. Being the skeptic I am, though, I immediately doubted anyone would "fall" accidentally from the upper deck. My only surprise is this doesn't happen much more often. As Steinbrenner said, it was the most exciting part of the night.

No the exciting part came when Chicago still won the game.

no coverage Exactly. The only exception I would request is for fights. The NESN guys torture us by giving reviews of donnybrooks, but no photos. Which is 1000x better than when Sean McDonough was the commentator and he was too snobby to even mention what was obviously going on.

now if only the yankees would do that sans the net...(sorry couldn't resist being a Boston Fan) LOL

Well the good news across the wire is dumbass is facing criminal charges. WHat would those be? Illegal use of the net? Falling into a restricted zone? NY being what it is it's probrably George himself pressing charges for the loss of game......

Ah, Yankees fans... they're so cute when they're this age. If he'd been wrong about the screen, he would have put a serious hurt on someone, so he needs a hard slap. As it turns out, it seems a sight better than pissing in public, which seems to be the forte of Red Sox fans.

OUCH!

fatma, how about something like this: "Play has been momentarily halted because some guy just fell onto the net. Meanwhile, we just got word that Joey Bat Boy tested positive today for roids..."

Every time tommysands types "fatma", my first glance sees it as "fatwa".

And you better watch your ass. I've had it with you infidels. As for your observation, lbb, my public urination usually takes place in the hallways of private buildings, so you're 100% wrong.

NY being what it is it's probrably George himself pressing charges for the loss of game...... My guess he'll get charged with reckless endangerment. If that netting doesn't hold him, he's definitely going to injure/kill someone on the main level if he lands on them. If the cops are smart, they'll charge his cohorts with some sort of minor offence (public nuisance) and get them to flip on their buddy to get an easy conviction for him.

Is it pissing in public if nobody sees you?

Is it pissing in public if nobody sees you? No! It would be pissing in private. And, I'm not sure I can trust any of you guys with "_"'s in your name.

It's so refreshing to see how dumb people do things. I'm sure glad I'm from Chicago, We'd never do anything like that.

i blame carl everett. he was present for both this incident and the one that occurred in 2000 during a game with the other sox. clearly his presence in the stadium brings out a certain lunacy in the crowd.

I had two underscores before The_Black_Hand had two underscores. Just sayin'.

I hate the Sox anyway and thought what happened then was ridiculous. Besides I was being a wise ass. Problem is, whenever you give an idiot an excuse to be an idiot, and no matter where it is in the world, this is what happens. Whether it's drinking or just coming from bad stock, there is no reason to things such as this.
