Rocker: I'm like Jackie, Hank: No, he's not talking about Jackie Stallone and Hank Hill. "I've taken a lot of crap from a lot of people," the lefthanded relief pitcher for the Long Island Ducks told ESPN.com. "Probably more than anybody in the history of the sport."

God. I mean, this guy has had a tough life. I really hope he manages to beat the odds and really make the positive impact he can on the sport. Nay, SOCIETY. Yeah. God bless John Rocker.

Yea the guy doesnt think before he speaks, however he really doesnt deserve all of the flack he gets.. Its been 5-6t years? I am in favor of letting the guy alone to make his come back. I think he has more than paid for ignorance. He's a lefty, so if he can get his act togather, he still would have value.

Rocker is still ignorant and so are the people still trying to get him fired up. There's no way he's going to make a comeback. He could only make it through a 29 pitch 1/3 of an inning. He's lost his mind and his game.

A slight alteration: "I'm full of more crap than most people," the lefthanded relief pitcher for the Long Island Ducks told ESPN.com. "Probably more than anybody in the history of the sport." There, that's better.

Yeah, he's like Jackie and Hank, alright - Jackie The Jokeman and Hank, The Angry Drunk (deceased) Dwarf. 'nuff said.

Brilliant! I love this guy. He finally gets a chance to redeem himself, and his brain can't keep his mouth from continuing to spout stupidity. At least this one wasn't as offensive as the last one. Comparing being harassed for being a bigoted dipshit to being threatened with death for being a different race isn't offensive, it's just hilariously misguided and inaccurate. I hope Rocker just fades away quietly, and we don't have to hear anything more from him - Unlike Mike Tyson, who I actually feel kind of sorry for now.

great than leave him alone. Rocker has become a punch line. One more person for the Media to mock and make fun of! I missed the part of the story where the reporter put a gun to Rocker's head and made him talk about his persecution.

There was no gun to his head. Rcade. The guy doesnt know what to shut up. As soon as he sign the minor league contract, the Espn boys were ready to pounce. He is old news, I wouldnt even give him the opportunity to vent. Especially if he is as vile as most would make him out to be. Dont give him the forum to speak and he would go away... That will never happen because he is a "ready made" story.

Let's do some role-playing, daddisamm (nothing kinky -- we'll save that for e-mail). Pretend you're the beat reporter for the Long Island Ducks. What do you cover with more enthusiasm? a) the signing of Patrick Lennon and the potential impact the 37-year-old who played 91 Major League games will have on the Ducks chances in the Atlantic League b) the team's heated rivalry with the Bridgeport Bluefish c) John Rocker's attempt to fit himself with a halo of thorns People like to scold the media, but I have trouble believing any reporter wouldn't talk first to a legendary loudmouth who's off his rocker.

Rocker will be the next addition to "celebrity boxing." Wonder who he'll fight?

As soon as he sign the minor league contract, the Espn boys were ready to pounce. And so was I. It's called schadenfreude. Kudos to you for not enjoying it, but I'm glad to know that come June 7, I can pop over to Camden and hear his welcome.

I see your point-rcade--yes, If I was the beat reporter for the Ducks I would choose talk with Rocker especially if I had the other two options covered. Of Course the local guy has to cover him. Here I fault the national guys, who hear that he had signed with the duck and then started to blast him BEFORE he said his latest tyrade. Espn, for example, not only reports the sports news, they do their best to create strories...... I get your point Rcade, but its a 6 year-old story.........

Who would take on Rocker? Hmmmm. Best if it were a relatively popular Met, not currently playing, but not long gone from the game, who would be sick of Rocker's crap and would actually maybe go through with it. Hmmmmm. Lenny Dykstra and Bobby Bonilla, check your voicemail! One of you might get to kick this inbred hick's ass on national TV!

Come on,folks.Give John Rocker a break.Just like you and me he is human.A case of "Foot In Mouth"is a normal thing ,right.Let's be real!If he get's his groove back!!Your're going to have him on your fantasy team!!! We have had many athletes say things in quick encounters with the media.Once after a reporter asked me a sensitve ,legimate question involving a racial issue.I misunderstood and replied he should update his Klan membership. Like Rocker,I apoligized.I was forgiven. So should he.

Rocker is such an egomaniacal worm that he can't even see the irony in his whining. I hope the public never lets up on this redneck has-been and he spends the rest of his life paying for his ignorance.
