Eagles Wipe Out Vikings, 27-14: The Philadelphia Eagles went scoreboard on the Minnesota Vikings, picking off two Daunte Culpepper passes in a laugher to proceed to the NFC Championship against the Atlanta Falcons. Roseanne Rosannadanna was held to three catches and ran off the field early once, botching a fake field goal.
Glad they lost, especially after last week's "Mooning Incident". Hope he enjoys sitting home and watching the playoffs from his living room again. Just goes to show that karma is a bitch and what goes around comes around.

What makes you think he'll be sitting at home watching the playoffs? I get the impression that Randy Moss is one of a growing number of professional athletes with no love for the game they play but rather see it as the simply, 'the job'. So, yeah, go ahead and get to that vacation, Randy.

That couldn't have been any better had it been scripted. The Eagles' fumble plops right into their receiver's hands for a TD. Moss leaves the field for the fake field goal of which he's the pivotal part. The Eagles fumble, but the Vikings player only gets one foot back in-bounds before he picks up the ball. And that was all in the first half.

Don't forget Freddie Mitchell's touchdown-turned-touchback - the kharma wasn't totally against the Vikings.

What makes you think he'll be sitting at home watching the playoffs? To be fair, it's pretty common for players eliminated from the playoffs of any sport to avoid watching the rest of them. It's tough to watch someone else suceed where you've failed, so I don't know if I'd watch them either. Many hockey players talk about not being able to watch games after being eliminated (or retired), so I don't think Moss would be really out of line for skipping them (if he did).

The botched fake sure looked like someone else's fuckup. Randy was looking at the sideline and back at the field because there were 11 guys out there besides him. One of the o-linemen wasn't supposed to be out there, according to Mike Tice, who can't get fired fast enough.

'fatma: Backup center Cory Withrow was on the field, unaware of plans for the fake, and coaches and teammates had to yell for Moss to come off to avoid a penalty for too many men on the field. "I didn't hear the call where I was standing," Withrow said quietly. (AP) Although a lot of news outlets are reporting that it was a handful of linebackers who didn't know what was going on, not just this poor fella.

Mike Tice is far too underpaid to get fired after winning one playoff game this season.

Mike Tice is far too underpaid to get fired after winning one playoff game this season Exactly. Along with the rest of their coaching stuff, all of which is paid less than some head coaches (that includes Tice's salary). As long as Red can pull that off, no way he'll fire them and pay up.

Did you guys just put Mike Tice and underpaid in the same sentence? I believe it's called, "You get what you pay for."

wfrazer, my comment in no way is meant to disagree with your assertion.

wfrazer- he can at least make it to the playoffs and when a game there. Have you looked at some of the other atrocious coaches and how much they get paid?

I don't think it's a matter of Mike Tice "getting" a team anywhere. If you had Randy Moss, Dante Culpepper and the O and D lines of the Vikings, would your owner be satisfied with barely making the playoffs? And wouldn't some heads roll when you can't even pull off a damned fake field goal that everyone knows is coming? The guy freaking stinks on ice. That's not to say some other coaches don't suck just as badly (Erickson, Holmgren) or worse (MARTZ).

wfrazer, the owner's satisfaction with tice is easily discerned from his lack of firing as well as lack of a salary increase to an amount larger than (many/most/the top) coordinators get--you're confusing mr. red with what fans expect and desire.

No, Bill, I think you are assuming Red McCombs gives a shit about winning. He doesn't. He's basically the same entity as the old regime Wrigley-owned Cubs -- don't worry about a title, just keep the money rolling in and the stands full. They do that with a couple big names, a bunch of nobodies and the worst-paid coaching staff in the NFL. Red's cool because the bills is gettin' paid and he's still clockin' much loot.

Sorry, Bill, I misinterpreted the second comment. I guess we both agree -- Red's a dumbass.

To be fair, the field goal may not have been his fault. There were 12 Vikings on the field, and someone may called him off the field to avoid a penalty. Still. Culpepper looked like he was alone out there for much of the game, and Westbrook was awful impressive.
