Ebony and Ivory: The Terrell Owens/Nicolette Sheridan skit on Monday Night Football was an attempt by ABC Sports to promote interracial sex, according to syndicated newspaper columnist Samuel Francis. "The message of the ad was that white women are eager to have sex with black men, that they should be eager and that black men should take them up on it."
the ad's message also was that interracial sex is normal and legitimate, a fairly radical concept for both the dominant media as well as its audience Come on, seriously? Is my watch fast? It says late 2004. Also, re: the pull quote I used above-- weren't they kinda limited to actress on the show? And Sheridan is the one who's done the most work sans shirt, so she seems like the obvious choice from the 5 or so options.

Ok, I'm all done (at least for 5 minutes or so), but I would point out the author's breadth of interests as a writer for that bastion of Journalism, the Washington Times. His most recent column was "WHY IMMIGRANTS KILL," wherein he suggests the hunter slaying in Wisconsin can be lain at the feet at our way-too-permissive immigration policy ('cause we let everyone in nowadays). Reminds me of a Jimmy Smits line on NYPD Blue: "Officer Sipowitcz here is one of the few native Polaks in America."

Did you guys look at the Francis bio? I mean, his photo alone is explanation for all the strange shit he's writing, he just can't get sex without paying and SOMEBODY is gonna pay for that! In his case, immigrants.

the producers could easily have found white actresses who are less obviously Nordic than the golden-locked Sheridan, but Nordic is what the ad's producers no doubt wanted. I don't even know if I want to thank you for posting this. I can't read it withut busting up. Lord knows every black man wants a white woman. I can't help, with the recent Mefi rememberance of SDB, to equate this to SDB's blaming white womens' lack of interest on factors other than himself. This could have been a piece in a Mississippi first grade primer from the '50s.
