The Ravens ran a full-on campaign: to get Modell elected to the Hall. Didn't work. Which is too bad, because if they'd been successful, we'd eventually see 40-foot billboards of Daniel Snyder in Times Square. Favorite quote: ``Look, if we disqualify an owner for lying we'd have no owners in the Hall at all, and we'd never be able to elect one.''

I'm biased, but I don't know how you could equate Modell with Snyder.

Don't think I am really. Just expressing my disdain for Heisman-style campaigns for the Hall of Fame. Although, now that you mention it, Modell at least helped build the NFL, and Snyder has merely managed to irritate me by throwing his money around unwisely.

Here's the now-working link on Ohio.Com. Modell skipped town with one of the NFL's most-storied franchises. He doesn't deserve to be in the Hall, no matter how many fans he has on his own payroll.

He also fired Paul Brown...bastad aside: Past Pot Pete, Superman won't let you get away with what you have planned for his good friend Jimmy Olsen!

The link is a Google cache, unfortunately Ohio.com (there's a great idea) was having some issues.
