Holland 2 - 3 Czech Republic: A simply astonishing match.
Best game of football I have watched in a long, long time. I feel almost honoured.

Or anyone want to post the game on the Internet?

It wasn't on TV here... By the way, i predicted somewhere on this website that its going to be Czech and France in the Final... Anyone remember that?

Two of the Czech goals from Reds, no less, second in the tourney for Baros! Germany are in trouble if these guys come out to play in the last game of the round, would be quite hilarious if Latvia can beat Ruud and Co. to go through. And BBC Sports has some (less than briliantly sharp) video highlights on their site.

Or anyone want to post the game on the Internet? I've seen xvid rips of the games on a torrent site, though I'm not sure if posting a link to such a site on here would be ok or not. Anyway, right now the site only has the games up to day 6 of the tournament, so this game isn't available...yet

Totally entertaining, a really aggressive match. Really want the Dutch to go through though. Just awesome stuff.

I missed the game last night, but it sounds so good, I'm downloading it via bittorrent. Have a look on suprnova.

It was a simply outstanding game - I don't think there was a bad player on the field. I feel sorry for the Dutch, because they may not qualify now, after such an impressive performance.

great match. a game with 5 goals and a storming comeback and a late winner - more like that please! i was not aware of the germany-latvia result until the late going. i am sure the drama would've been ramped up a notch for me if i had known all along that the czech could clinch their ticket to the next round. next up spain v portugal! two play and only one advances!

Another game I was unable to see. My local pubs are charging $20 per head to come in and watch the matches off-hours. Christ on a crutch, if anybody has a copy of this game I'll pay the shipping.

Man, anybody watching the USA-GRN mud match? I love matches where a player flies 10 feet when he slides.

vito90, when you're done with your copy, pls send it to me. We appear to have a history with that sort of thing. ;-)

And, Germany struggling to qualify? That's awesome! Go Latvia! Go Holland! Great job, Croatia!

JMD, I watched the match. I realize that by taking a 4-0 lead on aggregate in the 6th minute there was no danger of losing (which there wasn't before the opening whistle, either) but the US was really sloppy. Should have used the game as an exercise to tighten the defensive midfield, out weakest spot IMO. Armas is not going to get us passed the round of 8 in Germany and Arena should be using Richard Mulrooney much more. Plus why did Tim Howard not get one of these two matches?

Armas sucks...

Plus why did Tim Howard not get one of these two matches? Howard wasn't called up for the matches. originally Keller and Meola were set for the games. but since Arenas had to drop a Rapids player he decided to drop 3 KC players as well (since they were playing each other that weekend). so he called up Johnny Walker instead. not sure why Howard wasn't called though.

I agree that defense was a bit sketch. There were defintely a few holes that would have been major problems against a more offensively powered team. But, I also thought the announcers said the USA were without two of their starters due to yellow cards the previous game. Arenas didn't want a second yellow in as many matches causing them to miss the next match.

If there's anybody who seriously wants a copy of this match on CD, send me an email at huw.morris1 (at) ntlworld.com. All I ask is that you send me a homebrew music CD in return. Bear in mind: 1) I'm in the UK 2) It's a 700MB avi file from Dutch TV

Aaargh. Thanks to my wife-imposed quota on PPV, I missed this one, having forked out $20 a piece for the bloody rubbish that was Germany/Netherlands and Italy/Sweden. (And no, I couldn't pay the $180 to get all the matches. I had irate conversations with management at the local cable company and their PPV provider. The fuckers.) So, I spoke to my dad on the phone after listening to it, and he said 'That's the best match I've seen in the last 20 years.' Aargh. Bittorrent to the rescue. (Or salmacis, if that falls through.) At least the cable people give me a 2Mbps connection.
