Puff Daddy talked about wanting the Knicks.: It's old news. And I'm not sure I like the idea. But, Jigga-Man running the Nets? That would kick ass. What do you think? What Media Mogul would you want to run your favorite franchise, and why?

It would be so awesome if Mark Cuban owned the Mavericks.

I want Rupert Murdoch to own the Springfield Isotopes.

I wish Prince owned the Timberwolves. We'd have some hot halftime entertainment.

I wish anybody else owned the Brewers. I hate the Seligs so much.

Maybe if Michael Moore owned the Brewers. Yeah.

I wish Seattle's own Sir Mixalot owned any franchise that had cheerleaders. Bumps in the trunk.

Jay-Z's a pretty crafty businessman (or he surrounds himself with crafty people) so I can see him pulling this off to some success. Maybe it would expedite the possible move of the Nets to Brooklyn or whichever burough they're supposed to be courting. Attendence at Nets games is terrible. I like Cuban as an owner of the Mavs, in spite of his horrible mop hair and those stupid Mavs football jerseys. I'd take Bush as the owner of the Rangers again, you know, if he should become unemployed in about a year...

Actually I'd prefer if a friggin' media mogul didn't own shit give me a 35-year old retired billionaire anyday. But if I had to choose - that French Guy from Rollerball. Now there was a man with a vision.

"A Spokesperson for Jay-Z declined to comment"... .. Actually a crew member did comment - they declined to print it: "Jigga up in the bitch, getting the smoke on this muthafucka... Court-side!... My debut album drops on Dec. 18. Brick City! What?! What!?"

Isn't Mr. Z a little late, since the board is already evaluating four bids submitted by the YankeeNets deadline?

How will this affect Brian Scalabrine's playing time?

New Jersey has a basketball team?

New Jersey has a basketball team? They're the Nets now, but soon to be the New Jersey Bling Blings or the New Jersey Hollas. I'm all for it. Maybe Snoop will buy Boston and rename them the Boston Celtizzles.

Maybe Snoop will buy Boston and rename them the Boston Celtizzles. Ooh ooh ... and free Snoop porn for the kids! Why doesn't Springsteen buy the Nets? You could play an up tempo game. The theme — "Born to Run," baby.

ohhhhhh, they're on fire.

Can any of you think of musicians or actors, other than Gene Autrey, who bought a sports franchise? I think I remember reading that Rod Stewart owns/owned an English side.

Jon Bon Jovi is co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul.

Jon Bon Jovi is co-owner of the Philadelphia Soul. Don't see how your example qualifies.

On either count. Bada Bing!

What is that logo for the Soul? A piping-hot football? And I believe the Philadelphia Soul must be wrested away from Jon immediately and sold to the rightful owners. John is looking less swarthy and more and more like a woman every day.
