How do I get approved for NBA style load management?

posted by beaverboard at 08:38 AM on November 14, 2019

COMPLETELY OFF TOPIC!!

I've been obsessed with Jerry Jeff Walker lately. It's dawned on me that I've probably lived too much of my adult life as if I was in a JJW song. I like to think that our old-timers here not only saw him play live back in the '70s but also jammed with him on stage.

John Prine, I've got you in my sights.

Just wait until you are 78. Load management at my age involves stool softeners and prunes.

I never was a huge JJW fan, NoMich, but John Prine is a goddamn national treasure.

And if you haven't already, brace yourself for when you hit Townes Van Zandt.

If you haven't already watched the recent Ken Burns series on Country Music, ep 7 would probably suck you right in. It's all Waylon and Willie and Dolly and George Jones/Tammy Wynette and a lot of Johnny. The whole series was fantastic though (and I'm glad they aired it before the NBA season started).

Mike Trout wins the AL MVP for the third time in his career, becoming the 11th player in history to win the award three times, and the second to win three times by his age 27 season.

He's also finished 1st or 2nd in MVP voting in 7 of the 8 full seasons he's played. He finished 4th in 2017 after missing 48 games because of injury.

Ufie: I've already worn out the first John Prine album, but I have yet to really dig into anything after that
