Stoke Park Flash Golf.: Very realistic, and at time infuriating. Through three holes, I've got two birdies and one +12. Waste your time...

Finished at +17, which isn't too bad considering my bomb on hole 2. I'll play the second and third courses later.

yeah it is pretty realistic. without reading the instructions i was hacking it out of the forest. which, considering I haven't golfed in three years or so, is probably not too far off what might happen if I played three holes of golf. I think i played three holes on course one and was somewhere around +20.

This is a very good game...which in a way is too bad because it could have been a GREAT game...but the fact that your vantage point for putts is identical to that of drives makes its potential unrealized... Having said that, I'll be spending plenty of time on it today...thanks Ufez!

It reminds me a lot of a game called "Hal Golf" for the original Nintendo. You got to zoom in for putts though. Still, for being free, I quite enjoyed it.

Thanks a hell of a lot. I think we've got 5 or 6 addicts here now. My -5 30 at Allison (course #2) puts me 14 behind the leader. For the record, his 16 represents a 2 on all but the par 3s, which he must have aced. It still doesn't beat Tiger 2004.

Also, some punk kids Saran Wrapped a bunch of the holes to keep my putts from dropping.

I'll have you know that I scored a hole in one on the ninth. And the resulting sound effect--"WAS THAT SOME KIND OF GOLF SHOT OR WHAT?"--scared the hot piss out of me. And my cube neighbors.

Sadly Ufez, I haven't had a chance to play this yet. I've actually been quite busy at work, and have to go in there today to do some more work, but if I have a break, I'll be sure to give it a try. And yerfatma: I just got TW2k3 installed on my machine at home last week. Is TW2k4 a whole lot better?

Well, I'm playing on PS2, but I imagine it's the same. It's not that the golf is that much better: the graphics are very much the same, more courses, new players and the ability to create a golfer. What has changed is the RPG aspect, where you create a player and then spend a lot of your cash on items rather than abilities. I was going crazy thinking I'd forgotten how to swing/ developed a wicked slice and then a hook, but I spent $500,000 or so on new equipment and my play improved dramatically. The real time events are kinda cool too, but I've yet to win one. The last one required me to play 7 under on a course's back 9. Last night I had another amazing in-the-zone moment that happens once per year: I knew I had had just enough beer, fired up the the PS2 and spanked Monty silly. On the course. Not as bad as when I almost closed out Notah Begay on the front 9 during 2002, but this ended mercifully on the 13th.

Course 1: -3 (including an eagle chip-in, but I didn't enter my name for some reason) Course 2: -3 (birdie blast from the sand on 18 to pull it off) Course 3: -6 (would have had a -8 or so if I hadn't had accidentally used a 3wood from 36yds out on a hole...d'oh!) Now back to work! yerfatma: I've decided to root against Stewart Cink in every tournament I see him play on TV. In a greensome match (alternating shots after the tee shot) with him as a partner (against Charles Howell III and Notah Begay), Cink proceeded to go into the trees, water or deep rough on almost EVERY shot he took. Cost me some serious dough in the game.

How did you wind up with him? Then again, Howell sucks just as bad in the game. It's weird just how good and bad the computer players can be. I lost to Ty Tryon early in the game when I didn't have much for stats. When I came back and played him a week or so later, he had (perhaps) the worst round I've ever seen the computer play. On whatever hole I closed him out on, I had to wait to sink a birdie putt while he finished chipping from bunker to bunker.
