It's to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday.
They do something similarly on/around July 1st each year, and "Baseball Day in Canada" (in August).
My only complaint is that the bird is all red. If they left it the original colours, I'd have no problem with the jerseys.

Doing it once is cool. Doing it every Sunday home game is like your friend who celebrates a "birthday week."
But I do like that they look like Roughned.
I have a chromatic beef with my Mean Green. They're a color but they keep coming up with new ways to de-emphasize green on their uniforms. Be the green that you want to be, dammit.

Yeesh. That's from the game where State got crushed by 50+ points by Carolina. *Everything* was coming up Milhouse for the Heels and their fans that night.

The Blue Jays are wearing red home uniforms on Sundays this year.
Orioles are black, with some orange for glow
Cardinals are red, well the male's shade is so
But Jays are blue, the red unis must go.
White flannels at home is the old school show.
