RIP Arnold Palmer, 1929-2016: One of the all-time greats has passed.
Ali, Howe, and Palmer, all passed away in 2016.
Crummy year all around.

Grum has said it. And add in other names from other fields of endeavor and the year gets even worse. Historically bad, really, when the sum is totaled.
In fact this weekend alone is daunting to the human spirit.
This is one of those passings that will inspire me to go to multiple sources to read what a variety of people who are entitled and qualified to comment have to say.

Maybe he can teach God to hit a 1-iron when he arrives at the pearly gates. Rest in Peace, Arnie.

You beat me to this one. I gotta post my summary anyway for personal reasons:
Arnold Palmer, the favorite golfer of my late grandfather Glenn "Bill" Craker and millions of others he brought into a deep and abiding love of the sport, died Sunday at age 87. He won 62 PGA Tour titles, seven majors in seven years and had a career that spanned six decades. "What other people find in poetry, I find in the flight of a good drive," Palmer once said.
I think I'm headed to the World Golf Hall of Fame this week, which is by my good fortune close to where I live.
