Lady Gaga Will Perform Super Bowl Halftime Show: Lady Gaga is set to headline the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, Us Weekly reports. Finally the NFL gets me.

***Tahoemoj is a crotchety old man alert***

Not in any way to harsh on her rendition of the National Anthem last year, which I thought was both graceful and moving... BUT...With her style of pop drivel more focused on flash and dancing than actual singing, she seems the perfect candidate for the annual cheese-filled lip-synch fest we have become accustomed to.

I had the misfortune of watching her actually try to sing on a New Year's Eve special a few years back--maybe the autotune failed, maybe she was working too hard at dancing in sub-zero temperatures, and maybe the backing track was off--but I couldn't believe how fucking terrible she was.

Superbowl halftime shows haven't ever been about music. They are about flash and glitz and using a popular artist to maximize viewer share. Lady Gaga fits in well and I doubt any of her hard core fans will notice that the venue or acoustics impact her lip-synched autotune karaoke in any major way.

Most pop stars I avoid like the plague, but I've grown to like Gaga in certain ways. Part of it is: I had a memorable encounter with an Italian-American woman from NYC back in the 80's. Once that happens...it's hard to hate another one.

Also, Gaga is hard working and isn't afraid to try stuff. There is also this air of vulnerability to her that is intriguing.

Tahoe will be proud to note that her backing band when she does the jazz standards and Tony Bennett stuff is all Cincinnati boys. Well, not all natives, but got their skills together there at the UC music school.

I did some work for one of them once upon a time. They're all talented and work their butts off. They deserve whatever good things come their way from the Gaga gig.

A word of caution: Lady G. had better not wear one of her patented meat dresses onstage in Houston, or it will be summarily removed and thrown on the cooker at Ronnie Killen's barbecue place.

Lady Gaga? Sure.

But where's Lord Gaga been all this time?

We Cincinnatians, no many how many decades removed, will always take pride in the Conservatory of Music. Good on those boys.

Lord Gaga is taking tea at the pavilion with Lord Kenmore. They have much to talk about.

Lady Gaga is a strong girl and good pop-singer, Just Dance this track makes me very nostalgic.
