Bothered that Portugal have an extra day of rest. 3 draws to squeak into the knockout round. Hmph. Go Bleus.

Fond memories of host France prevailing in a Sunday final against an indifferent Portuguese speaking team in the 98 WC. Hoping for more of the same.

The extra day of rest and home-field advantage should balance out.

I'm on a roll lately. A pity I have to make more picks. The contest should stop now and declare a victor.

Pogba to score

Cards to Evra, W. Carvalho and Giroud

Shots on goal: 23, Shots on target: 11 (just in case I misunderstood the metric).

Shots on goal is shown in parenthesis here in the Germany/France report. In that match there were 13 total from the two teams.

That graphic looks like 32 total shots and 13 on goal/target. So we're agreed that the metric is on target shots?

That match is probably not a representative sample. :-)

France 2, Portugal 0

Goal: Griezmann

Yellow cards: Pepe, Payet, Giroud, Alves

Shots on target: 9

Clarification: If a player draws two yellow cards in the match, will they get 35 points (5+5+25), or just 30 points (5+25).

The contest should stop now and declare a victor. You can send smoke up the spindly stove pipe anytime you want, I suppose.

You can also decide if it will be white or black.

However, if you continue to prevail in these contests, you'll probably end up being summoned by the AG and Director Comey for briefings on the Hill.

Some players have picked 4 yellow card players instead of 3. I will ignore the fourth pick, so if you want to change your list please do so forthwith post haste.
