LA Rams Trade to Acquire 1st Pick in NFL Draft: The Los Angeles Rams have received the first overall pick in this year's NFL Draft in a trade with the Tennessee Titans, giving up a first round pick this year at No. 15; two second-round picks and a third round pick this year; and a first- and third-round pick in 2017. The Rams get the first pick and a fourth- and sixth-round pick this year. The move makes it appear likely the Rams will begin their return to Southern California with either Carson Wentz or Jared Goff as their quarterback. The trade could have been made out of concern the Cleveland Browns would take the Rams' preferred choice of quarterback at No. 2.

This also may throw a wrench in Dallas's plans, which from what I've read were leaning heavily towards taking a QB with the 4th pick.
Part of me wonders if this is a sign that Kroenke is actually caring about the team he fields now, but really, fuck that guy.

This seems like too much. Five picks in the first three rounds is enormous value to be losing. I'm reminded of Mike Ditka trading an entire draft for Ricky Williams, a move so bad it should have erased his entire legacy of success with the Bears.

I agree with Video Game Parlor. Seems like a steep price to pay, particularly in a year in which there is no sure-fire QB prospect. Rams do not seem to be just a QB away from contending (and thus could use all of those picks), although perhaps this is also motivated by having a marketable, franchise player for the return to LA (although I would think Gurley is pretty damn marketable).

At least the Rams gained a couple of late round picks, so they should be able to keep their special teams squads well stocked which is important, as that aspect of the game is usually good for one or two wins a year against Seattle.
Fisher's Rams may be the rest of the league's preferred Homecoming Week opponent, but they are the Seahawks' nemesis.

Am I the only one who reads it as "La Rams" and thinks That really should be Los Rams... every so often?

The trade could have been made out of concern...
Or, the Rams could take a page (or two) out of the Red Auerbach pre-draft playbook, and spook the Browns into wanting to trade up to the 1 spot "to make sure they got the guy they wanted". At a hefty cost, of course.
Would the Browns actually go for something like that? They're the Browns. I could go up to their front office guys and say "JP Losman: Low mileage, and he's only 35 -- 3 years younger than Brady", and I'd be able to see the wheels starting to turn upstairs.
