Bruins Win Game 2 in Overtime: A Daniel Paille goal 13:48 into overtime gave the Boston Bruins a 2-1 road win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals, evening the series at 1. Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask made 18 saves in a first period onslaught by the Hawks, letting in only one goal by Patrick Sharp.
That was a scrappy game. Every time skaters had something good going on offense, the other team screwed it up. The winning goal seemed a little soft. I blame goalie fatigue.

The winning goal seemed a little soft.
No gift there, rcade. Paille hit about the only 4-square-inch area he could to get it past Crawford. Bruins had been trying to shoot high glove for most of the game, but Crawford was able to get to them all until the GWG. Although Paille is not considered a sharpshooter, don't forget this guy was a first-round draft pick. There are very few forwards in the NHL who will not get off an accurate shot when given the time and space in front of the goal.
I said in the beginning that there was little difference between the teams, and this series could go either way. It is now coming down to which team will outwork the other from game to game, period to period, shift to shift. If the NHL needed something spectacular to recover from the lockout, this is the series that will do it.

I thought it was a soft goal as well. Crawford should have had it.

If every game is an OT game, that's going to make the losing squad feel alternatingly better/worse.
Better: We only lost by the slimmest of margins. We were good enough. We could have won with only a couple bounces in our direction.
Worse: We only lost by the slimmest of margins. We were good enough. We only lost because of a couple bounces in their direction.

I told my cardiologist not to worry, we've only got five overtime hockey games left to go.
