Poor Whitey Ford, he didn't any thing to deserve this kind of treatment from the fans.

Rob Parker won't be seen on ESPN anymore.

So now apparently missing the playoffs for 7 years in a row isn't good enough? And there was much rejoicing in Toronto (?)

Was just here to post that. A sports journalist friend in Toronto has heard a rumour there's a Luongo deal on the table that Burke refused to be a part of and ownership wants which led to his firing.

It has to be the Luongo deal. Or, the new owners don't like Burke's personality.

I'll just add this to the pile of things about the Leafs that makes it tough to be a fan...

It's official: no one elected to the Baseball HOF this year.

The numbers are up on http://www.bbwaa.com.

Aaron Sele 1 (0.2%)

Do you brag about getting a vote or are you too embarrassed to tell people?

Who the fuck votes for Aaron Sele?!

Someone who liked his stylish delivery, I guess.

Aaron Sele was one of the few good things about the Sox in the early '90s. He doesn't even get to the Hall of Better Than Average from my perspective. Ten years from now we'll sit back and laugh when this generation of Holier Than Though Handwringers gets bounced off the mortal coil (or at least retires). How are Biggio and Tim Raines on the outside looking in? How is the empty class good for the sport?

I thought John Kruk was going to punch Pedro Gomez on Sportscenter when Gomez openly averred he could tell by looking who used drugs. When Kruk is the voice of reason, the debate is broken.

Fun stat from Twitter:

Jack Morris: 105 ERA+, 7 postseason wins, 385 HoF votes
David Wells: 108 ERA+, 10 postseason wins, 5 HoF votes

I hadn't heard about the poor quality of the Redskin's home field until RG3 got injured the other day. Now I'm hearing mentions of it frequently.

You would think that the R*****s would have a great field. They hired an expert groundskeeper from a local golf course.

The announcers were talking about it from at least the early 2nd quarter, and it sounded like it was a Known Issue.
