When former NFL player Jason Sehorn talks to his wife Angie Harmon, he says "sidebar" before a topical digression.

Re: Harmon, She-Hulk, "sidebar"

That's just awesome. All of it.

Mike Freeman is an idiot. If an NFL player wants to sell his Super Bowl ring, that's his choice. Just because Freeman regards the ring as "something so cherished" does not mean the people who earned one have to share his opinion.

when you do something as selfish and stupid as selling your ring.

I think I have a hard time understanding why selling one's own personal property is selfish.

And yes, if he sold the ring, by definition it was not "cherished." Maybe it was at one point, but no longer was at the time he sold it. Maybe the championship was what was important to Taylor, and the ring was just a bauble to commemorate the hard work he and his teammates put in. Maybe Freeman can shut the fuck up and win himself a championship ring if he wants to be the paragon of responsibility. I think Taylor's a piece of shit, but it has nothing to do with how he treats his own things.

Am I the only one who feels like Bill Belichick would be burned in effigy if he was half the asshole John Tortorella acts like?

...half the asshole John Tortorella acts like?

I don't believe it's acting, he really is an asshole. If NJ pulls the upset in this series, I do believe Mr. Tortorella might be looking for other employment.

Belichick would not be burned in effigy. That means that some sort of representative stuffed dummy is burned. In Belichick's case, there would first be a vote over whether to burn him at the stake or to have him hanged, drawn, and quartered. In BB's case, he only fails to respond to stupid questions (or stupid questioners), while Tortorella fails to respond to every question.

I enjoyed that Tortorella interview - the less coming from his mouth the better.

See no prob w Totorella's interview - he's clearly, and rightfully, pissed at his players after the way they played. Why should he throw them under the bus for the press?

posted by kokaku at 04:27 PM on May 17, 2012

Has nothing to do with throwing players under the bus. Has everything to do with refusing to answer even simple yes/ no questions, glaring at reporters and treating people like shit for daring to do their jobs.
