Falcons KO Vick, Come Back to Beat Eagles: Matt Ryan threw four touchdown passes and Michael Vick exited with a concussion and a bloody tongue as the Atlanta Falcons erased a 31-21 deficit to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 35-31 Sunday night. Comeback victories also were achieved by Buffalo over Oakland, Dallas over San Francisco and Tampa over Minnesota in week 2.
Never point at the scoreboard before the game is over.
Especially when your replacement is Mike Kafka, Esq.
Who, by the way, performed really well and got a little jobbed by that Maclin drop late in the game when they were driving hard.

Why shouldn't he point at it? He left with a 10 point lead regardless of his turnovers. If you put up 31 points in 3 qrts with 3 turnovers and you're still leading by 10 the "blame" should be pointed else where. Maybe this thread should read Ryan and turner kick Philly's defense where it counts with 5 redzone TD's. And the Falcons defense survives Philly's 3rd string QB.

Because pointing at the scoreboard in a game you go on to lose is a major faceplant.

9 times out of 10 i agree....he more than made up for his turnovers and he can't help being forced to the side lines with an injury. At the time he points he's beating up on the them even after trying to give them the lead with the turnovers. They luck up and get the 3rd string QB for the 4th qtr and the D folds. Hardly a faceplant by Vick.
NBC gets Reids staff the Replay view in time and this topic is about The Eagles winning with 3 turnovers and giving up 5 redzone TDs IN Atlanta because of Vick.

I particularly like Andy Reid's comment on the replay / lack of ...
"Listen, that's hindsight now," he said. "There are so many other things we need to do better."
Ryan and Gonzalez absolutely shredded what most expect to be the best pass defence in the NFL this year.

Sure it is. Nobody cares about the score unless there's zero time on the clock, and that score wasn't something for Vick to boast about...it's arrogant and looks pretty foolish when you're wrong.

To be fair, that's not the worst finger-pointing Vick has done while leaving the field in Atlanta.

But the 10th time they're talking about the team I root for.

Did you use your captain crunch decoder pen to gather this conclusion?
Actually my point was Vick did his job. He even cleaned up the mess he made with all the turnovers.
He did his job in 3 qrts. if the D don't fold and NBC gets the replay of the interception (THAT WASN'T) to Reid's people in the booth, you would've had no use for your captain crunch decoder pen in this thread.
Vick pointed to the scoreboard because of the boo's as he walked off the field injured. His gesture in context was basically, boo me all day as long as we're winning. But it's Vick so of course it's going to be blown up into more than what it was. If and when kolb returns to Philly and he walks off injured while getting boo'd by philly fans...nevermind.

What is this captain crunch decoder pen and where can I get one?

Come on. Arrogant? The fans were booing him and probably yelling things like "you suck" and such. Pointing out that perhaps you don't suck that much based on the scoreboard wasn't such a big deal. And, he wasn't wrong. He doesn't suck. The defense and the 3rd string QB might though.

Isn't it also worth remembering that Vick had just suffered a brain injury? Maybe give him a teensy bit of room on this one?

Football's a team sport. The scoreboard was the team's score, not his. Besides, a 31-21 lead in the third quarter is meaningless for taunting purposes. Any NFL team can overcome that deficit.

Vick would have been better to bite his tongue.

Oh, Michael Vick. You broke the cardinal rule.
Never point at the scoreboard before the game is over.
