The packed crowds who watch the "Fighting Irish" must mean that the US said goodbye to Indiana a long time ago.

After losing to the US in the Women's World Cup today, the North Korean coach claimed 7 or 8 players had been struck by lightening in training in the run up to the cup, thus limiting their performances.

I can't really disagree with any of the HHoF selections, although it is a bit difficult to evaluate players like Mark Howe, who played in the WHA. Still, his body of work in the NHL is of sufficient quality to merit selection. I very much object to the exclusion of Pat Burns. The words I would use to describe him are excellence, toughness, dedication, and character. He was always a gentleman. I can only guess that there is a personal animosity toward him on the selection committee.

It's a scandal Pavel Bure didn't get in.

Pavel Bure not getting in is very surprising to me.
He's exactly the kind of player I'd want in the HOF.
As much as I love me some Toronto Maple Leaf-era Doug Gilmour, there wasn't a more exciting player in the NHL than Pavel Bure during his time.
Top 10 Bure moments
The fact that the HOF doesn't have Pavel Bure, and does have Clark Gillies is criminal.
Also, it's a shame that Burns didn't get to go in with Gilmour, since their careers were nicely linked and everyone knew that Gilmour was Burns' favourite player.

Pat Buchanan's subtle take on Mexico having the largest crowd at the Gold Cup in beating the U.S.: "Say goodbye to Los Angeles. Say goodbye to California."
