Late Comeback Puts Miami Heat in NBA Finals: The Miami Heat are going to the NBA Finals after a late comeback in game 5 over the Chicago Bulls. With the Bulls up by 12 at home with 3:12 remaining, the Heat won 83-80 and finished on an 18-3 run fueled by LeBron James three pointers and stout defense. "Everything is on me," said Bulls guard Derrick Rose. "Turnovers, missed shots, fouls. ... I was just making dumb decisions, and it cost us the game."

Although a Texan, Roger Clemens may be pulling for the Heat to go all the way so he and his teammates can get bumped down or off of the Most Despised Championship Teams list.

If you're bored by that game, you're not an NBA fan. The Heat has incredible players and most of the nation wants them to lose.

Miami's talent was bigger, and more experienced.

Dallas: My last hope...

Let's hope the refs don't gift the Heat a game (or two) in this coming series.

I will watch only if Dallas wins 3 and has the Heat on the verge of elimination. Then I will watch only the latter minutes of the game in order to be able to see David Stern eating a healthy portion of crow, and ABC/ESPN's cheering squad for LeBron trying to explain away the loss. It might not happen, but it is my hope.

David Stern eating crow for what?

I too want the Heat to lose.

But this is a bad deal for the Mavs. I do not like the match-up. Heart says Mavs, head says Heat.

Yeah, me too, but I don't know if that's just me being a Mavs fan or what.

Then again, I was on the brink of ulcers going into the Portland series, the Lakers series, and the Thunder series. Yet the Mavs have won 10 of their last 11 through those series. So I'm willing to sit back and let the games play out. They've got a really good thing going and my respect for Carlisle's coaching ability is growing exponentially. I'm not going to bet my dog on them winning or anything, but I feel okay right now.

Ask me again Tuesday afternoon, though, and I just may punch you in the mouth due to stressing it.

If Stern has to hand the championship trophy to Mark Cuban, it would be roughly analogous to this.

Any hope I have that the Mavs will win is tempered by the knowledge that Stern is still commissioner.
