Jets Looking Forward to Hitting Hines Ward: New York Jets coaches and players have a lot to say about Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward, who's either "the toughest player in the league, when no one's looking" (Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine) or a player "I respect the heck out of" (head coach Rex Ryan). "We're going to deal with him early so he knows what type of game it's going to be," said Jets safety James Ihedigbo.
I think it will be Mike Wallace giving the Jets problems today.

I can't really see the league allowing this kind of targeted language. If the same language was said about a QB would it allow that? After all, they are talking about The Pride of South Korea.

It seems like Ward has been in the league forever. I think he predates both Tommy Maddox and the Internet. Hard to believe he plays as much snaps as he does and still has the legs to tangle with LB's and DB's downfield. But he was playing rockin' robin with the Ravens last week.
If I were an opposing defender, the desire to wipe the smile off of Ward's face might overcome my ability to maintain my composure.

I seriously doubt Hines Ward is intimidated by this kind of talk. Cover the guy, account for him on the field, and everything else will fall into place for the Jets.
