TCU Goes 13-0, Wins Rose Bowl: Texas Christian University completed a perfect 13-0 season with a 21-19 victory over the University of Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. The Horned Frogs complete their first unbeaten season since winning the national championship in 1938.

Well earned win, and a worthy contest. Tremendous display of speed, skill, toughness, and ferocity on the part of both teams.

If Auburn were to beat Oregon handily in the title game, and if further details were later to come to light regarding Cam Newton that ended up invalidating the Tigers' championship run, TCU could end up being declared national champion or co-champion by default.

Not the way the Frogs would want to win a title, but deserving of a fair chance to at least compete for the trophy? Hell yeah.

It's too bad the rest of the Big 10 stunk it up so bad in their bowl games. TCU would have looked a lot better had they dominated their games instead of barely showing up.

TCU beat No. 5 Utah 47-7 and won nine of its 13 games by 24 or more points. Where did they barely show up?

This was a terrific game. Both teams played well, but I thought Wisconsin didn't run enough and had horrible clock management at the end of the half. They had two or three timeouts left when they kicked their field goal.

It's a shame we wont find out if TCU is better than Oregon and Auburn. That's a great football team, non-AQ or not.

I think he meant it was the Big 10 teams that barely showed up in the bowl games, thereby making the conference look weaker in general and perhaps cheapening the TCU win a bit.

But the performance of other conference teams shouldn't be seen as taking anything away from the Wisconsin team in particular. The Badgers are a good football team no matter what.

The Badgers are a pretty good football team, but beat up on (and arguably ran up the score on) some very weak teams. When it is all said and done, I believe they will have beaten only one team (OSU) that ends up in the top 25 team this season (unless Iowa sneaks into the bottom of the rankings by virtue of its win over Missouri). That, combined with the Big Ten's 0-fer in other New Years bowl games, takes some of the shine off of the Badgers season. I think the Badgers would have been at best the third or fourth (and at worst maybe even fifth or sixth) best team in the SEC this year.

TCU is moving to Big East to get to a conference with an automatic bid. Wonder if BCS will eventually take that automatic bid away? I think Conn. the first totally unranked team to make BCS bowl, and made it as champ of Big East.

I dont think. The Big East does need to turnn around some though. Pitt, WVU, and Cincy have the ability to be quality teams. With TCU in the mix, they have a chance to be reputable again. IF Pitt can find a coach.
