In honor of Steve Nash's perfect game on Sunday night (and Hakim Warrick's comments afterward), we offer a sampling of seasonal holiday song:

"Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
Do you know what I know?"

I'm not sure why they should call it a perfect game if Nash had two turnovers...

I could probably get a bowl in this currrent Australian team, but these guys can't seem to let it go...

So if a player goes 1 for 1 in garbage time, he has a perfect game?

Perhaps the little fella should be playing outside on Sundays.

They should do that to pitchers. "Sure, he pitched well, but he had three strikeouts at the plate."

Nice post, Owly - would have loved a ringside for that scrap.

Albert Haynesworth has been suspended for the final four games of the season for "conduct detrimental to the team."

Worst free agent signing ever?

Sucking?

For the Redskins? I doubt it. They have made many, many awful free agent signings (see Adam Archuleta and Deion Sanders). Haynesworth is going to another team where he can play DT in a 4-3 and is going to be great again. Other Redskins were practically corpses when the Redskins signed them.

Bob Ryan on what the non-sports fan is missing. SpoFites understand his premise quite well.

True, but they didn't receive the massive contract that Haynesworth did. How much is it going to cost the Redskins when they inevitably release him?

Haynesworth had $41 million in guarantees. They have submarined his trade value, so the Redskins are unlikely to get anything in return for him. Still, this situation is most bizarre because they paid so much for a player that they don't need for their new defensive scheme. Even if Haynesworth played as hard as he could as a NT, he still wouldn't have been worth that contract. It wasn't simply a bad signing, but a series of very poor management decisions compounding a risky signing.

I saw this floating around, so I thought I'd leave it here...
