A 20-year-old filming Notre Dame's Fighting Irish football team died during practice Wednesday when high winds toppled the 50-foot tower he was in. Declan Sullivan, 20, posted on Twitter at the beginning of practice: "Gusts of wind up to 60 mph. Well today will be fun at work. I guess I've lived long enough."

I've had a limited time working at height using both a scissor lift and a bucket lift, and the one thing that was always true was that you do not go up in adverse weather conditions. The bulk of my experience was on military installations, and if you were caught violating their safety rules, you were politely asked to depart the premises. I cannot believe that Notre Dame would be that lax in its safety procedures. I wonder how expensive this settlement will be for them.

Greg, I'm guessing that's a local cable access broadcast, so not professionals and probably not paid. They're homer guys calling it the way they saw it.
On the other hand, it's nice to hear Colin Quinn getting some work.

Although I'm looking for the Celtics to do well this year, I took great delight in the fact that the C's beat the new Heat on Day 1 and then lost to the new Cavs on Day 2.
