Lions Cornerback Alfonso Smith Does a Carlton: "When I was in eighth grade, I told my friends that if I ever scored in the NFL I was going to do the Carlton Banks dance," said Detroit Lions cornerback Alfonso Smith. On Sunday, he picked off a Sam Bradford pass for a touchdown and kept his promise.

I thought it was great to see an original and different touchdown celebration than what we've seen before. I actually love the Carlton!

That was awesome.

I love it. I can't believe that garnered a 15 yard penalty and possible fine from the NFL. I thought that was just for group celebrations?

I'm proud of the Lions for validating the fact that they knew they were a better team this year.

That dance took a total of about three seconds; I've seen players spend more time than that just preparing a celebration. Wow, a penalty for that is outrageous. He should have gone ahead and done the entire dance to get his money's worth.

There was no penalty. Burleson got one for kicking the ball into the stands. Smith's was fine.

There was no penalty.

I guess I blurred those two facts. Carry on, then.

Typical smithnyiu, doesn't read before opening fire.

I'm already looking into the cost of bringing Alfonso Ribeiro for an autograph signing at the next Lions game.

Can you even get tickets to the next Lions game? Right this moment, they're tsssst - hot!

The Lions have improved to the point where even Roy Williams is playing better, 1200 miles away.

I just want them to stay respectable for the next five weeks. On Thanksgiving Day, when I am engorged and sofa-bound after the feast and my nephews want to play ping pong in the basement, I'll be able to say: "are you kidding? the Lions game is on".

So, can I get my Lions jacket out of storage now?

/It's mothballed. Not really the appropriate attire for Phnom Penh.

This bag over my head had been on so long my wife made me put it back on until I shave and hit a tanning bed.
