Cliff Lee Suspended First 5 Games for Chin Music: Seattle pitcher Cliff Lee has been suspended for the first five games of the regular season for throwing a pitch over the head of Arizona's Chris Snyder in an exhibition game this week. Lee's in his first season with Seattle after helping Philadelphia reach the World Series.

I don't understand why he would be suspended for what happened in a spring training game? Fine the guy or whatever but to suspend him 5 games when he didn't even make contact with Snyder is dumb. Granted, he was thrown out of the game but com'on now, MLB should've just spoken with Lee about this and gave him a stern warning.

He threw at him twice in one at-bat. One was inside, the other was above.

The weird thing is, while cricket is supposed to be a gentlemens' game, it's perfectly legal and acceptable to aim for the batsman's head or body.

Well, the Brits eat spotted dick pudding too, so their idea of what constitutes a gentlemen's game may be a trifle skewed. Besides, since cricket has been known to induce deep slumber to insominacs they had to make it a little more exciting than watching the tide rise in the Thames.

You're in good form at the moment aren't you?

Not a good idea to fall asleep when this guy's bowling, either as a batsman or a spectator.

He was known as Whispering Death.
